Josh Jackson's Mom Says UK Not Involved

Out of those 3 I think you have the best shot with Jackson since we don't want him.

You don't think it's realistic? Jackson is considered a KU/UA race. Ferguson is considered a KU/Alabama race. I will admit, we were the early leader for Bolden, but not sure how that stands now that Duke has offered. But, if Ayton reclassifies, word is that he's a big KU lean, so that would be a great consolation prize.

Article a few weeks back quoted Ayton as saying UK and Duke lead, or something like that.

Well do tell.

Just that anyone " in the know" will say that Jackson was absolutely never an option for UK and is either staying in NC or playing overseas for a year.

There are some guys who we have a chance with, some guys we just plain don't..and nothing anyone can say or do will change that. Same thing applies to Smith Jr...he isn't coming here, bet the farm.

If Bridges comes to UK, I could live with Humphries, Willis, and Wynyard representing our frontline simply because Bridges could be UK's stretch four. Rim protection would likely suffer but we'd still have a pretty decent squad if some of the elite wings end up in Lexington.

I tend to agree, though I either want Lee back or Gabriel, Killeya-Jones or Ayton as well.

But if, like you said, we can get Bridges as a combo forward and a couple of wings (two of Monk, Alkins, and Fultz) I could live with going small and playing 4 out and 1 in.

With the plethora of talent out there on the wings in the '16 class, I could live with that.

So we could look like this:

Starters
G Fox
G Monk or Fultz
G Alkins or Fultz
F Bridges
C Humphries

Key Reserves
G Mulder
G Matthews
F Wynyard

Good 8-man rotation, but like I said, I would like to have an elite big (Lee, Ayton, SKJ, or Gabriel) in the mix.

I would think that if KU could land Jackson, Ferguson and Bolden that would give KU the #1 class in 2016.

Unfortunately for all of us, Frank Jackson, Tatum, and Giles trumps that class for Duke.

If UK gets Fox, Monk, Bridges, and Ayton (if he reclassifies) then KU comes in third.

All three classes would be tremendous and I would not complain about second or third place with those hauls.

Agreed, but if Ayton reclasses, I'm not ready to concede him to Kentucky just yet or Fox for that matter. :)
