I love defensive football.I'll help bury all of them.
Everyone loves offense, I kind of do too. The thing is, defense keeps you in most every game with a chance to win. What is the old saying "All I need is a chance"!A lot of people around here will die on us if we hire another "D" guy to lead the program. I'll help bury all of them.
I've also heard "defense travels."The thing is, defense keeps you in most every game with a chance to win. What is the old saying "All I need is a chance"!
If UK were looking for a coach tomorrow, he would be my choice. Great recruiter, great motivator, spark plug from the word go.Thanks. Hopefully becomes a strong candidate down the road to run UK’s program. Seems like a good coach.
I really like Sumrall but would be nervous if he took over for Stoops. Neal Brown was wildly successful at Troy too and he's about to get fired at WVa after about 3 years.
Hate to say it but defensive football requires so much depth at all positions.I love defensive football.

It is also not what wins championships in today's cfb...check out the top teams in the country. The only thing keeping UK from being 7-0 right now is its offense.Hate to say it but defensive football requires so much depth at all positions.
Georgia and Ohio State, the top two teams have stellar defenses. It is also not what wins championships in today's cfb...check out the top teams in the country. The only thing keeping UK from being 7-0 right now is its offense.
And averaging 40+ ppg...nothing wrong with having the mindset of having both. In UK's two losses we scored 14 and 19 points. That won't get it. Look, I'm not a pass happy guy, just one that follows cfb and a firm believer that scoring should be more valued by our HC.Georgia and Ohio State, the top two teams have stellar defenses.
I’ve always thought that defense “travels better “ but I don’t have any stats to back that up , lol .Everyone loves offense, I kind of do too. The thing is, defense keeps you in most every game with a chance to win. What is the old saying "All I need is a chance"!
Sumrall vs Brad White . Who you got ? Is it more important to have experience running the total program in a smaller venue or running a high level defense in the best conference not in the nfl ? Hard to say for me . When it’s that close I’d have to go with the one that can do best at recruiting I guess. I’m thinking I’d have to go by who had the best interview and see their “plan”.If UK were looking for a coach tomorrow, he would be my choice. Great recruiter, great motivator, spark plug from the word go.
I don't have the stats either but it would make sense to me. Less communication, at least audible communication with the defense and the opposing crowd is typically quiet when they are on the field.I’ve always thought that defense “travels better “ but I don’t have any stats to back that up , lol .
UK has enough offense. They are 5-2 solely due to a hurt QB ( South Carolina) and special teams miscues (Ole Miss)And averaging 40+ ppg...nothing wrong with having the mindset of having both. Disagree...but it's a free country.UK has enough offense. They are 5-2 solely due to a hurt QB ( South Carolina) and special teams miscues (Ole Miss)
