Look up the Houston metro population - not just their downtown. That’s all the suburbs. The metro population is 7.1 million. 😂
This thread is honestly embarassing..
16 Houstonians are listed on Forbes magazine's World Billionaires. Total net worth $75.6 billion. Itt just takes one to write a check that would be like most folks buying a tank of gas for their vehicle.Kentucky can outspend Houston. Zero doubt about that. Question is how that balances against other players

Jackson Mississippi has the highest murder rate per capita I believe.Nice murder capital of the us. I bet hes a shooter 😉
At least do some research before you post so you don’t look silly.

The Houston metro area population is ~7.3 million. They do have suburbs. I lived there for thirteen years. They have way more than 2.3 million people, bro.At least do some research before you post so you don’t look silly.

The times I have seen him play he looks more like a three than a two to me. I know he is 6-4 but the way he plays I think we could go with him and two other guards at times.
Pro town and pro dough. College sports (basketball) is not a big. College football is where the big $$ goes in Texas.Houston has TONS of oil millionaires. You know though, the strange thing about them and Baylor is that each arena for both of them is only like 8.5k seating capacity.
I don’t care if this guy can’t add 2+2, the only math I care about is writing him the biggest number on an NIL check and getting him here. Lead guard of an FAU Final Four, guy knows how to win, Pope will let him know what the assignment is here.Michigan wouldn’t admit him academically.

Well Houston has a population of 2.3 million and Kentucky has a population of 4.5 million. So you had it reversed.Houston, TX is almost double the population of the entire state of Kentucky. LOTS of money there.
He was considering Michigan because of his old coach. That doesn’t mean a whole lot to Davis if he was considering Michigan.
Also, Cryer is likely back which I think would give him some pause as they will have a solid backcourt.

NopeI hate to interrupt the census worker's convention, but is there anything to this Davis news? Beyond the kindergarten kid insider?
Thank you! I started to read the thread, but way too much demographics for me.Nope
Not completely accurate. Bball arena complete redo internal a few years back and fertitta opened the wallet… it’s named for him. As is new medical school. But he is the chairman of regents so not sure if he’s able to give to nil. Either way not sampsons style to get into bidding war.Houston plays football in a 40,000 seat stadium.
Basketball in a 7000 seat arena built in 1967.
These Billionaires haven't opened wallets before.
And they got to pay for new football coach.
So if they did, Houston would be asking for that money to go somewhere else.
Key words…if they wanted toWhere was this said? And no I don't lol. Are we believing reports that Memphis/FedEx are offering 25mil? Are we even close to that amount? Are we even half?
There are just so many richer alumni bases and more lucrative cities and states, that if these schools WANTED to, they could put UK outside of the top25. And yes, Houston is one of them. With a snap of a finger any number of Houston based companies could outspend UK right now. If they wanted to.
Fertitta money is biiiiiig money. Was gonna post the same thing, that would be huge. We should be able to outbid Houston unless I’m completely off base
I dont see how Puke could be ranked so high with a mass exodus.Interesting. Everything I have read says UCONN and Duke are the top teams next year
Is that why the basketball arena is named after him? The Fertitta Center? 🙄Only cares about football
Memphis FedEx is offering 25 million / 5 years for All sports. That's 5 million a year for every sport combined from football to basketball to soccer to ladies badminton. Kentucky already has 4 million dollars a year pledged just for basketball alone, from one donor alone. The math is actually very clear on which one is better from a basketball standpoint. You really think that the majority of that 5 million a year that FedEx has pledged will not go to the football team? Even if 60% of that FedEx money goes to the football team, UK already has more pledges in nil money for the basketball program from one donor alone.Where was this said? And no I don't lol. I just find it fascinating that some of our fans keep finding ways to assume why we will suck. No one wanted to come here, they said. We need to take a long look at the mirror, they said. Kentucky basketball will never be what it used to be, they said. And now places like Houston, that have absolutely no basketball tradition, are suddenly going to turn into NIL behemoths because some rich billionaires live in the suburbs around the school. I'm still trying to figure out why those same rich billionaires would even care about Houston basketball. The 4 million doesn't even include money from the Craft's.
They can make more than that on a street corner.Memphis FedEx is offering 25 million / 5 years for All sports. That is the Case if if if the Nil is substantially better. But if it's close I think it does factor in.
If you're a vet transfer with 1 yesr left are you taking 500k Nil to play for a totally newly assembled team under a new coach or taking 400k to play for a top ranked team(not saying thats the numbers just a hypothetical), one of best thought of coaches, and a serious title shot. Not saying we won't get him but it will take a big money bag that dwarfs Houstons offer IMO..
