Jeff Ruby Steakhouse After The Game

I’ve got $125 in GCs for there saved up. Did you get drinks, etc or just food? Assuming this is just food.

Trying to decide if I want to grab another while they’re doing a “10% off” promo.. I know I could do the math on my own with the menu, but frankly, I’m lazy
Food and drinks .

Somehow I don't think OP's post was centered around the food. Would like to know if Raff bends his elbow as much as is insinuated on broadcasts though. Sounds like a good evening.

Was clearly the place to be for all the movers and shakers. While waiting on reservations, we saw Bill Raftery seated with what looked to be the CBS crew. World Wide Wes (WWW) came in with a small entourage and were escorted to a private dining room where they were later joined by none other than Coach John Calipari. He causally came in and was greeted by a huge round of applause and quietly acknowledged everyone. Zan Payne came in with what looked to be a couple of recruits. Also Joe Craft and his wife, US Ambassador to Canada Kelly Craft were there.
Did you see me? I was there :scream:

I’m not the biggest steak eater, but I had a pretty good one at Charley’s Steak House in Kissimmee the other day. 21 day aged Porterhouse. Anyone else tried that place?

Bill for wife and me. I had Ribeye, wife Filet, bottle of wine. Total bill less tip, almost $300.00 bucks. To me it was kinda high but when it’s your wife birthday you just suck it up. When you think my first semester cost $250.00 oh how things have changed.

Watching a rerun ive seen at least 20x as we speak.

I do the same thing. Glad it isnt just me. I pretty much have all the episodes memorized.

Saw them live at the Palace in Louisville. Very funny live too.

Did you see they have a movie coming out in Feb? Will be interested to see how that comes out.

The best meals I've ever had in Lexington were at Coles on Main. Around the same price maybe slightly less, fantastic service and cozy atmosphere.

One of the best and one of the worst steaks I’ve ever had came from the same place, The Big Texan in Amarillo. First time was a great steak. The next time was way overcooked and not good.

You know it’s all a matter of what you call good food or what your tastebuds prefer. I’ve never eaten at a fancy steakhouse and never had a desire to. But I grew up and have farmed all my life (I’m 59), and in my opinion have been eating first class food all my life. We slaughter our own animals, cure our own meats etc., and to me nothing is better. Some of the best food I’ve ever eaten some here would consider terrible. It’s a matter of taste, no one is right, no one is wrong. If I ever tried a Ruby steak, it might be the best I’ve ever had, but I doubt it. And I’ve eaten lots of cows.

On the Trail? Thought they closed now. Haven't eaten there in years. S'Okay.

If you are mortgaging the house, Bern's IS steak in Florida.
Not sure. Went there because Jeff Piecoro raved about it the night before. This was last year at bowl game - it was pretty spectacular!

Wrong...

Never been to the one in Lexington, but unless it is way off from Cincinnati's locations the steaks are spot on and worth every penny.

I don't think his places are bad but they are pricey.

IMO, there are better steaks in Cincinnati for the money. I've been to two of his places, dropped a hyundai payment at both of them - they were good, but I don't feel like I got my money's worth. I think the Precint has a pretty good steak , maybe the best of the bunch but I'm sure one of the trendy places in OTR is comparable as well.

Anyway, it appears there aren't many better options in Louisville

Many better in Louisville. Stony River and many others. The above discussion is the "cliche" version of good steaks.
