Unfortunately, I think he chooses the Rat. Maybe Cal's, "Who Wants to be Next?" campaign rubbed off on Jayson and he wants to pull the trigger early. Either way, he will be a star in his short stint in college. 2016 is a loaded class, so I think we will get ours, but he would be a nice way to start off the class.

I find it interesting how Coach K has revitalized his recruiting prowess in the past few years. I thought he was on the way out and was declining. Sadly, that's not the case.

Inside job orchestrated by K to counter punch Cal's message. Tatum was on board with K's job all along. Don't fall for the plot twist man.

Yeah, thought he'd retire on top after this last title but looks looks like he has a few years left. He might coach until he's 90 and put that total wins number out of reach.

I'm not worried about Duke this year. Frankly, I think they're overrated and built much more like their early-exit teams than last year's squad, but '16/'17 is shaping up big for them if they return a few of their freshmen and add Tatum/Giles.

K has always gotten recruits. He's finally targeting athleticism, physicality and quickness instead of recruiting like it's still 1990.

You never know of course. But I'd be shocked if it was anyone but Duke. How sweet would it be if he unexpectedly put on the UK hat though?

You guys are really saying stuff like "i cant see anywhere but Duke" ...after the Murray recruitment???? Cant predict this stuff

I would certainly agree that it's helping quite a bit. Him also adjusting his recruiting philosophy is huge. I don't think they lose many guys early after this season. I really think Ingram may be the only one and I wouldn't call him a lock, but just for giggles let's say he leaves.

a roster of:

Matt Jones
Grayson Allen
Derryck Thornton
Luke Kennard
Chase Jeter
Harry Giles
Jayson Tatum
+ whoever else they sign in 2016 will be insanely good

Yep and I hate to even look at that roster lol. There's gonna be a lot of UK vs.Duke on-court and off-court battles in the next four or five years.

True.

And if we counter with something like:

Lee
Hawkins
Willis
Ulis
Matthews
Mulder
Wynyard
Simmons
Monk
Ayton(reclassifies)

Then you are looking at the top two squads in the country most likely in 16-17.

I want Josh Jackson anyways. If we don't get Tatum then Cal needs to do whatever it takes to bring in Jackson.

Why is it sad? Do you envision a world without elite competition?

I personally hope the ghost of Majerus visits him this week and convinces him in Scrooge-like fashion to attend St. Louis.

I envision a college basketball landscape where all programs have to abide by the same rules, treatment and officiating. I hope Duke gets stuck on the tarmac for all ~15 road match-ups and causes fatigue and crankiness during the games. I hope everything bad happens to Duke, short of moderate-to-severe injury. If the NCAA/Officiating/SC/Media keeps pumping them up, then I sincerely hope something brings them back down to the level everyone else is on.

Yes, I certainly do.

But seriously, I find this an odd response to a flippant remark.
Why is it odd? I think it is odd to envision a world without competition. Like John Lennon's song Imagine.

Are you suggesting Duke is noncompliant with NCAA rules? The 1st I have heard this.

They've skated on things in the past, just like UNC has.
Evidence? I don't think there is any comparison between UNC and Duke, and I don't see a shred of evidence anywhere to support what you are saying. UNC has always been a blatant cheater. Duke had never been.

There was the Corey Maggette thing. He basically did what Marcus Camby did and the NCAA did nothing. The school had nothing to do with it though. K flat out said "we'll accept whatever the NCAA decides." And they just didn't do anything. Always pissed me off but it's not like Duke did anything wrong or tried to cover it up.

Yeah, no way Coach K and Duke told the media one thing and did another.

And to think, what if we took UNC for their word...

Obviously, you believe what you believe, even if there is no evidence to support it. But I have never seen anything to support what you are saying about Duke. When fans of other schools say this same kind of trash about Calipari without evidence, everyone here calls them on it. I believe Calipari and Krzyzewski are both clean, and the 2 best coaches in college basketball. Krzyzewski succeeds for the same reasons Calipari succeeds.
