jaylen brown cuts kansas w/ link

Just drop the Adidas with every post jeez.

Obviously Mich is a player due to his roots being from their.
If he ends up picking us instead what are you all going to say?

If I hadn't seen the same exact scenario play itself out twice recently with two top wings we were in on I wouldn't be as inclined to believe it, but that plus the fact that Brown himself has said shoe affiliation will definitely play a role in where he attends college... well, it's not exactly hard to see why a lot of us have our doubts.

Obviously I hope it doesn't play out like that and if he picks UK then a lot of us will gladly be wrong, but I'm not exactly encouraged given what little has been leaked out. I just won't be able to understand why no elite wings wanted to play alongside Ulis and Briscoe, it's flat out stupidity.

Go back to the main board hail

I don't get the animosity. I'm offering perspective from a Michigan side that many posters here are wondering about. People continue asking what Michigan has to offer and how Williams cancelling his visit was relevant. I also like hearing the Kentucky side of things. What's the issue?

This spring is precisely the type of thing that makes lifelong fans stop and consider whether they want to follow recruiting on the same level of interest. It's been one step into dog crap after another. UK has literally been the runner-up for at least three top 10 guys this spring.

I know there is a chance we are overreacting but I am starting to agree with the camp who thinks there is a paradigm shift going on in the recruiting world. We still have a very good class coming, so it's hard to make that case, but given what we lost and the openings we had, it's hard to believe there isn't something else going on other than this being a weird group. Whether it's in the shoe industry, negative recruiting, or whatever, logic is just not on the side of us losing out on big recruit after big recruit given our needs and the UK brand. Also, Cal doesn't seem to be connecting with elite wing players, and that's not just this class. Maybe Cal figures it out and makes some kind of adjustment, new hire or what have you, but something needs to happen on that front, IMO. Cal is too good a salesman, and this year it should have been his easiest sell yet. Just very confused.

This has given a 2016 Top Recruit the idea to tweet each day the school that he is cutting. 'Today I am eliminating Arkansas-Pine Bluff'

Michigan's team is loaded with shooters and Beilein likes to run a 4 out offense to spread the floor. I think that bodes well for a slasher like Jaylen Brown that can be dominant in space.

Also, he wants to develop his weaknesses as a player and his biggest weakness is his shot. Beilein's offense is pretty good for that.
You don't develop for the NBA as a wing having college 4s guard you and guarding them. It gives you a false sense of ability. This is probably why GR3 sucks in the NBA. it's easier to take a college PF off the dribble than it is an NBA guard.

The struggle to land elite wings at UK is bizarre, considering Cal's rosters at Memphis were essentially 9 wings, 2 guards and 2 bigs.

Confusion is an appropriate word. Numb is another. I feel the latter will soon take over many of us when Brown puts us out of our misery within the next week.

My guess is tomorrow Brown cuts UNC.

Monday becomes the showdown Adidas has wanted all along.

My main concern is that he is cutting the Adidas schools out of courtesy to not lead them on. He also cut the home state schools, likely out of courtesy/respect.

there likely wouldn't be much concern leading on UK and UNC to build his brand and slight two of the premier Nike schools, y''know... if we're entertaining conspiracy theories.

Jaylen is the key to a potential great season for us. I'd sure like the UNC drama to end soon, so the penalties can be laid out to push them out of the equation.

The longer the UNC drama goes, the doubt I have that they see no impact next season, and that could be enough to convince Jaylen to commit there.

For what it's worth, our best source (Sam Webb) reported that Brown's plan is to cut 1 school every two days. I hope to God that this goes faster because I don't feel like following this until Wednesday.

Agree but if he is wanting to get to next level he will never play the 4 or off the ball like that he needs to learn how to handle and shoot better like you said.I dont think we get him just think a poor choice for him he will get lost in the big 10 shove and tackle defense , much different than he would see here. His weakness would not be exposed as much, lets just hope he picks us would love to have him.

Yeah, I can't disagree with any of that. Brown at the 3 for Kentucky/Cal is a perfect fit for both Brown and Kentucky. If I was Brown, it would be a no-brainer for me.

lol @ Cal's dribble drive, offensive rebound offense teaching Jaylen how to shoot better than Beilein's ball screen offense

The spacing @ UM will be much better too

It was a Brown clone in his video that said the Adidass deal wasn't a factor!!! GTFO! He has just eliminated 2 of them!!! Yet Kentucky has no shot! Gtfo!!!' I am sick of hearing about the adidass crap!! Shut up all ready! He will start and play 30+ minutes at UK! but UK has no shot! STFU! ITS KENTUCKY THE GREATEST EVER OF ALL TIME PERIOD!!

And the other side of the ball? Beilien's junk defense will surely prepare brown for the NBA better than UK's pure man to man with weak side help principles...

I'll gladly eat crow if he comes here, but I think SAG is correct in his thinking; this has B.S shoe company crap written all over it. I wish ALL schools, including UK, could get away from having an affiliation with a particular brand of shoes for God's sake.

Because his teams have been young

Kentucky's teams are almost always young, and they crack the top 15 yearly in terms of defensive efficiency.

Seriously, if you're going to come here to debate the merits of your program, please don't bring the pudding-soft BS arguments.

You're going to find a UK fan base that has zero patience for horse shite from other fan bases right now.

difference being UK does it with 5 * and JB does it with 4 + 3 *

To be fair, guestavo is banned from our board.

Not even his own kind will allow him within the village limits, eh? Figures.
