Javon Baker

Not a lot of great news for the football cats. What is going on?

The good news is we have a real program with depth, not necessarily at WR however. Still, stuff like this will not help us reach our goal.

Oh well. Still have some very promising FR and young guys who will need to step up. If you look at the WR room, it's not empty by any stretch. Baker would've been a nice weapon to have but the TE room is top notch, Robinson from VaTech is legit, younger players have been waiting for the opportunity - well, it's time. Crumes, Harris, Crowder, C. and R. Lewis, Magwood, Sanders, Thomas, Key, B. Brown - someone will have to step up. I think the potential is there, just a matter of production.

Nope. Sounds like there ended up being baggage there that Kentucky didn't want to deal with.
Part of me is naturally curious as to the details of why he’s not coming, but OTOH Stoops job is hard enough without any unnecessary distractions. If he was a head case or malcontent, it’s better that he not even be here in the first place.

A once promising season is starting to have mor and more holes…which eventually catches up with you

A big hole at outside Wr
Potential problem with Crod
We never really addressed Cb IMO
Vito out for the year injured

Locksley poured poison in his ear talking about our youngsters... or he's just naturally insecure about his juice after being passed over to this point at Bama.

Why I keep sprinkling money on the under 7.5 wins (1.5-1). There is no downside either way. Would love to lose that money to FanDuel/state of Indiana.

We'll win more than 7 games. Miami(OH), YSU, NIU, USCjr, Missouri, Vandy, Louisville is 7 off the top of my head we should win. Now, The remaining 5 games are up for debate. We're going to need to get some upsets. If we beat FL in W2 then its going to be a good season.

I don't know, K. Wan'dale was a slot and we didn't really have THAT guy on the outside last year and did fine. We've got some serious potential in the WR corps (looking forward to seeing Key and Brown on the field along with, fingers crossed, the development of C. Lewis, T. Crumes and D. Crowdus. I know potential doesn't mean much but, with so many athletes and speed on the roster, someone will become a weapon. And, we may be able to rely on the TEs to create a bunch of mismatches and not have to rely on the WRs quite so much. Cummings and Upshaw on the field at the same time is surely going to cause a few DCs some headaches. Throw in 'new' Robinson with some speedsters and you've got a decent receiving corps to attack with. RBs will probably see more balls thrown to them, too, and that's not something we did much of last year.

CRod could be a big problem but I've heard nothing but praise for Wright, McClain and, to a lesser extent, Smoke for 2 years now. Certainly, short yardage must-have yards might be a lot tougher but the RB room doesn't completely disintegrate if CRod isn't playing. A hit, yes. How much of one still TBD, imo. Outside zone wasn't CRod's bread and butter while the other backs (perhaps, of course) may be even better suited. We'll definitely miss him.

We have young talent in the def backfield. Better athletes, imo, than last year. A couple need to grow up and be better.

Still think we're good for 8+ wins and another nice bowl game. If I were betting O/U at 7.5, I'd go over. I think 8 is > 50/50 and 9 is a possibility. Things have to go our way for us to win more than 9, imo, but that can and has happened.

Hopefully but we have shit the bed in a bunch of games towards the end of the season.

Guy supposedly runs a 4.8 40. Not much demand for a WR with that speed. Or even a TE. Sounds like he was a no take.
