I have heard no one mention him in talking about the running back room.

Is he still coming to UK and if so does anyone know when he is scheduled to be on campus??

I think this guy could have helped us this year if he could have come in January.

He wasn’t coming until summer….
Yes. I knew that. Just was hoping we would hear confirmation that he is actually going to graduate and show up when???
May, July, September?? And that he is 100% still going to be here.

If not, CMS will need to get in the Portal and find another serviceable RB. What we have available in that RB room just isn't going to cut it for a full year of SEC hits.

Yes he will be here during next semester enrollment. Just like all students who are completing their senior year of high school right now.

Stoops wouldn't have accepted his LOI if he was academically shaky or questionable to qualify. He will show up June 1 same time as most of the 23 signees.

I hope the RB who decommitted from us and went to Tennessee doesn’t blow up down there. That would really stink.

Do you just make stuff up?

Quick question for you. How many recruits has Stoops offered and they commit to UK but fail to show up because they didn't qualify?

It is not zero. So you R E L A X.

I was merely asking about a top level recruit who hasn't been mentioned by ANY of the coaching staff this spring.

Not even a "we've got some guys coming in who we think can help the RB room".

If CMS hits the Portal for a RB in May, I guess we will know then, won't we??

Ease off the caffeine, no fan in CFB should be this apocalyptic about 3rd string running backs in April.

Lol.

So asking the status of a 4 star RB signee in April is apocalyptic????

OK. Drama Queen. Let's just talk about Cal's 5 star recruits who may or may not ever show up and play for UK.

See you on the RR after I drink another cup of coffee.

Thought there was 1 fringe wide reciever who struggled to get eligible to ultimately enroll 3 or 4 classes ago

But yeah, Stoops & the admissions office know what they are doing, if a kid signs a LOI he is either qualified or is 95% there.

Running back takes a bit of time to learn. Especially difficult is protection assignments and picking up the blitz which some backs seem to never master. So I don't except too much out of a freshmen except to maybe provide some limited depth. Of course there are always to mold breakers.

For the system we run, Davis was the much bigger get. He won't have the bone jarring runs from crod and Benny we all loved; but he'll be even more effective. Death by 1000 cuts and setting up play action.
you aren't saying Davis will be more effective than CRod are you? Surely not!

Depends on how you define effective. Will he deliver the bone jarring runs that got crowds electrified? No.

Will he be a much better fit in the system we want to run while also gaining those death by 1000 cut yards? Yes

Yet to be seen but Davis is a better fit for the wide zone in fact he's the ideal fit, as he's an intelligent one cut back that can read the blocking and time his cut, along with a nice burst. I can easily see him gaining north of 1200 yards in 2023-2024.

CRod controlled games, the guy was amazing! Teams knew what was coming but couldn't stop it and that was with one of the worst ol in the ncaa!! Pretty much game after game, sorry but I don't agree with you guys at all! oh well, that's fine!

This is the winner. C-rod was an all timer. If he did not have to miss 4 games he would be UK all time leading rusher. UK has tried the wide gap 2 other times. To LC credit he quickly saw that UK was not equipped to run it effectively and went mostly inside zone. I have never understood the lure of NFL type wide zone/gap in the college game. I suspect by years end UK offense will resemble 2021. Davis is a really good back but not a C-Rod.

Davis doesn't have to be CRod, just an effective version of himself. I expect UK to outrush the '22 team, think Davis/Wilcox produces 2000+ yards. Not saying each will rush for 1000, probably something like a 1200/800 split. Hoping they can get at least serviceable yards from McClain/Wright.

We ended up getting a much higher rated and touted RB with better offers and they still cry.
Yes, I think Jamarion Wilcox will have a big career here. He doesn't have CRod's size, but he is an electric player. He might become a factor for us in 2023 but that depends on opportunity. I think Davis will get the job done nicely in our offense, and it's also possible Ramon Jefferson can make a significant impact if healthy. McClain is a better player than some of our fans think. So the RB room is in good shape.

Coen has always liked McClain, he & Davis will be the ballcarriers predominantly in '23.

Ramon Jefferson is a long way from being able to run the football and take live hits. Not sure he will ever be back to where he was and there is no way anyone can know this until he does.

McClain has been here long enough and gotten enough game snaps to know he can't break tackles on outside runs and sure can't get the tough yards on inside runs.

No runner on our current roster has shown the ability to score inside the ten yard line, u less it is Davis. And I am absolutely SURE he will not be able to do it like CRod.

Glad some are confident in the RB room without CRod, running behind an unproven o-line. Someone in that room will have to break tackles at the LOS for us to be successful in the run game this year or we will have to go to the short quick dump off passes to RB to offset our inability to run inside or the pass game will fail miserably.

Wilcox isn't being mentioned because he's not here yet. Same with all the other UK commits that have yet to arrive.
Well, that's strange.

I heard Coach White say he had some help coming in at inside linebacker that could provide much needed depth at that position if they could learn the system fast enough.

Davis might be the guy. Vandy OL had worst run blocking grade in power five. Of Davis' 1044 yards, 737 came after contact. Those are crazy numbers.

Wouldn't break my heart if Coen determined the run game just isn't efficient enough so he calls Leary pass plays 60% of the time
