It's funny to look back and see how a lot of people thought Murray was going to Oregon. 76% that he was going to Oregon and the fact that we was told that Oregon had all of the momentum couple of days before he annouched. I'm not giving up hope on Miles Bridges because of the lastet "buzz" has him going to MSU.

That was such an enjoyable day because I had zero hope we would land him and I almost didn't even watch his announcement. Then, when we saw someone in an Oregon hoodie in the audience, I really thought it was a done deal. When he announced, I was ecstatic.

well Jones DID actually commit to Washington, but you know that. Feel like that's not a very good example in this case. They had the momentum late, and that's where he picked... just as people began speculating he would.

He said he knew going into his press conference that he was picking UK, and immediately after the announcement he knew he made a mistake.

He sat down in front of his hometown and had a momentary change of heart to Washington, before coming to his senses again.

But considering (as he made clear plenty of times), he decided on UK a couple of weeks before his announcement, yet all the media buzz still surrounded Washington, I think it's a pretty good example.

Sure. But again, he had decided 2+ weeks before his announcement that he was picking Kentucky, yet media still said he was going to Washington.

And he didn't go to Washington.

Therefore the media was wrong.

It's like if I decided tonight that I want to eat at Applebee's tomorrow, but the media is getting all hyped up right now about how I'm going to Chili's tomorrow to eat.

But I've already made up my mind, I'm definitely going to Applebee's.

But on my way there, I pull into Chili's by accident, realize it right away, pull back out, and go to Applebee's like I had already decided, and I have an incredible meal at Applebee's, and even win a national championship while I'm in there.

Would that make the media correct about me going to chilis?

Whether you like it or not Matt Jones hears from Dwayne Peavy and others who know the status of recruits. He was confident that Randle and Skal would pick UK. He said Murrary kept it close to the vest and did TJ was at a time before he was really plugged in so that was a wash. Could Bridges still pick UK sure, everyone involved was sure 12 hours before Jaylen Brown picked it was UK and then he said Cal, Bridges could do the same. It's just filtering out the noise.

The Jones example is actually a pretty good one really. The momentum may have been with Washington, but with him knowing and deciding 2 weeks before if would be Kentucky, its pretty obvious those who think they know what they are talking about really have no clue just like the rest of us. Most make educated guess, then state it as Inside info someone close shared with them. It's not every recruitment this happens, but sadly, here lately, it seems even more obvious. This kid is coming to Kentucky, unless he says otherwise. Haha.

I've said before I'm not a fan of Matt jones. But he was pretty far out in front on the Humphries thing.

There's was a time when I would have agreed that he wasn't a great source of recruiting info.

And I don't know that id call him a source now, but it's pretty clear to me that he does get some info from those in or close to the program from time to time now.

It annoys the hell out of me how insecure so many UK fans are. We're the #1 program of all-time, yet some of our fans have the confidence of Ole Miss basketball fans. One bad rumor and they give up on Calipari. It's lame.

Maggard had a friend pass away and took time off but never came back. Screwing over everyone who paid money.

He was supposed to pay and get an upgrade to the site because there was a loophole where people were able to see the pay board without paying. That part is Understandable but what has no excuse is that he never came back. I bet anything he did the math and the site wouldn't make enough money to keep up the maintenance for the new boards and he ran away so to speak. But that's just my guess.

And I have no idea what he's up to. Jason Spear is the only poster who used to talk to him that I know of

No use in taking him to court. , everyone who paid for it got some use from it which shows he made an effort so it's just like you played the stock market and invested in TBK only to have it fail. The court would rule in favor of Maggard and the person just lost extra cash to a lawyer and court system.

It's just like kick starter, it's all a pay at your own risk because all they have to do is make an effort. There have been cases in kick starter of people taking millions and getting away with it just because they made the slightest of efforts and by that I mean like one video game kick starter, a guy took like 12 million and only spent 10 thousand and just quit and got to keep all that money

Maggard site and info died out like newspapers. With social media boom people were finding out stuff in an instant. I never understood the whole " pay for info " stuff. Today that's seems silly. Why would you pay for anything that could be tweeted out a second later.

Just like Chris mortison sp did on live television and corrected Steve young for not saying he brought the info first...the info was blowing up on social media and Chris wanted everyone know he leaked it first. I don't remember what it was even about but he looked silly on live television making a big deal out of it

Premium info mostly a joke nowadays. If you have an inside track on something, good for you.....if you want to share that information. Don't get mad when ten thousand people tweet it

Well maggard gave info you couldn't get from social media. The media had us believe we had a big time shot and lead for mudiay, s. Johnson , Brown etc. where if Marc was still around his info would of told us that was not the case and if a player was using UK for hype. Like he did so many times in the past.

He got the info from handlers and coaches that they didn't want going around the media.

whether it be MJ or MM or any other local insider, most of the info comes from either directly or indirectly from the coaching staff

FWIW, Matt Jones said Jamal Murray was most likely picking Oregon the morning of the announcement. Don't believe anything until you hear the recruit make their choice.
