Jamal Murray expected to decide in June

Indiana also has yogi aND blackmon. Anybody know what the gaurd situations look like at Michigan and michigan state?

Something struck me as curious. Murray has went forever without getting a Twitter. Anybody think his primary reason for getting one would be to announce a college decision? Also, he hasn't visited another school yet. It's a good sign if he sets a time-frame for a decision following his visit, without visiting another school anytime recently.

Very good with Michigan, Idk about State, but I never seen them as a player for Murray anyway.

I think he got on twitter because an imposter was tweeting up a storm posing as Jamal Murray.

UCONN would be the fit. UK has 2 PGs and the competitor for the #1 pick.

Would love for him to come here but they system at UCONN is set for Murray to come in and lead them in assists and points.

what planet do you live on?

Michigan St. has Nairns at PG, he started most of last season.

They have Eron Harris (a WVU transfer) coming in at SG. He averaged 17ppg at WVU his Sophomore year. He is expected to start.

Valentine is their leading returning scorer and will start at the 3 spot.

So the starting spots look all sown up.

Bryan Forbes is back as a backup guard. He'll get his minutes, he averaged 26mpg last year.

They seem to have less room than we do, with all their guys already having high D-1 experience.

Michigan has their entire backcourt returning.

Walton at PG, Levert and Irvin on the wings.

Those are their three returning leading scorers.

Not a lot of room for another guard in Ann Arbor.

Murray would start over Nairns.

Irvin plays the 4 for us.

Yeah, I forgot you guys play four guards.

But Albrecht returns as a Senior with starting experience.

Dawkins is also a returning starter.

Murray could beat them out to start, but they still get their minutes.

Michigan is loaded on the perimeter.

Maybe, but Nairns is a returning starter with Final Four experience.

Even if Murray starts at MSU, he will share minutes with Nairn, Harris, Valentine, and Forbes on the perimeter.

Pretty crowded backcourt.

Over a month and a half ago then?
And no remotely recent visits before that.

Murray is getting 30-35 mpg wherever he goes.

Somebody at UM (and MSU) is going to lose a lot of minutes, then.

Murray wants to be the #1 pick and have a shot at winning a title, where does he have a better shot at both?

You said he hasn't visited any other campus. I merely pointed out your misstated "fact." He's had one official visit, but he's been to 4 campus visits, just hasn't had the full sales pitches for the other schools with the extra allotted time coaches can talk to a recruit on a visit.

It's pretty apparent that he will either reclassify and start college in August or he'll stay in HS and go straight into the 2016 draft.

UConn has Jalen Adams, and that PG transfer from the Big East that averaged like 16 points and 5 assists. You were saying?
I was saying that I don't follow UCONN and therefor have no idea who is on their roster but that Murray should be the best guard on a guard lead team.

Believe me, I want him here but wonder why he hesitated after visiting the best school there is in the land.

Because he's holding out for the one place with even more playing time than UCONN:

EKU

I'm almost certain Cal tells a lot of these kids to sleep on it before making a decision. Maybe even suggests to take other visits.

He doesn't want them to get here and be unhappy. When you pressure kids into quick decisions they end up causing chemistry problems, transferring or decommitting.

He won't end up at Uconn. I think it would be Oregon or Kentucky. And reading the tea leaves makes me think we've got him.

Can't have kids being starstruck and then making a rash decision.
I'm at least 90% sure that if he reclasses, he will be coming to UK. The fact that he's talking about announcing a decision in June following his visit to UK makes me feel like he's nearly certain about where he wants to be.

His dad seems to be admitting after the visit here it would be easy to grt caught up in the hoopla....thats twice his dad has thrown out hoopla

Oh brother....

After what happened this spring, I'm not pretending to have any idea what this kid will do.

The signing period is over, so everyone's team is already complete. Anywhere Murray picks, other guards will already be on the roster. After the game he played at the Nike Hoops Summit, I doubt he is afraid of competition. If the idea is to develop his game and become a high NBA draft choice, Kentucky will be an appealing option. But each of these kids looks at things differently, and there is no telling how Murray will look at it.

He hesitated for the reason his father has already explained. He hasn't reclassified yet, and he wants to take a couple more visits. Until he reclassifies, playing college ball next year isn't set for him. This isn't rocket science.

The article says he rushed to take extra classes so he can play this fall.

Oh I know. There's definitely a fair amount of doubt in my mind.

But what I'm hopeful for is that because this appears like it's going to be a short recruitment, there won't be a ton of time for the same type of manipulation that took place with a lot of the other guys we were in on that got them to somehow pass up tons of immediate playing time at the top program in the country.

Irvin plays the 4 for us.

6'6" PF for you guys huh?? Well around here many posters are just besides themselves at having a 6'5-6'6 guy at the 3. They think that they are just way to tiny to play the 3, back in the 80's I remember James Blackman playing the 4 a lot for us during the game and he was 6'3".

Yeah. If it were, I'd be much better suited To discuss the topic.

That is your opinion. Other visits can mean he is unsure and wants to compare and contrast.

I thought the Ennis kid took up their last available scholarship.

Personally I think UK has a as good of a chance or better than the others at landing Murray. I do believe that Murray would prob be the best guard on the roster at just about everyone of them as well.

One thing that is concerning to me is that Indiana had a full roster and Creaned 2 players a couple of weeks ago to make room. They are a leading contender for the services of Thon Maker Murray's teammate and are also now after Murray. More than likely selling them on coming together.

If their was another player on Murray's team their is no doubt that Crean would kick off another kid to make room for him as well.
