Jaland Lowe

His shooting was atrocious this past season.

He scored like 17ppg on 36% shooting.

That’s a lot missed shots to get to 17ppg.

At least he is 88% from the stripe. Maybe he gets to the line a lot.

Like the stats, but the shooting efficiency is dreadful, and that was in the ACC.

We can take a guy like this.. but similar to S. Wheeler.. he needs to have shooters around him.

Stats and measurables don’t really pop of the board.. 29% from 3. 6’3-175lbs. 2:1 A/T ratio. Rebounds decently for a PG.

Maybe he takes a big leap…I’ve been positive to this point but this is a little disappointing If he’s PG1 and not a backup to someone else. Lewis may beat him for the starting job and that isn’t ideal imo

Seems like other than 3% he improved everywhere else. Where did butler rank among our outside threats? I mean if you can drive dish and play good d you could do a lot worse. Wonder if it’s an either or situation with him and Jaron, or either or with Yaxel and Alvaro. Seems like we have room if they play multiple positions. None of those guys are full on backups.

Except for his shooting, he looks pretty decent.

Has 2 years remaining.
decent Ht for PG (6'3), but 175 lb, could get pushed around some.
1.8 spg, so I'm thinking, HOPING, a good defender, maybe not Butler good, but good.
Shooting isn't good, 39% & 38% his 2 years, and his 3pt shooting dropped 35% to 27%, probably due to volume (took almost 2X more), so if more selective hopefully we can get the 35%.
We want the ball in his hands at end of game with a lead, 88% FT shooter.
Only a 43% shooter on his 2's, hopefully those are long-2's, and we get him to stop shooting those, and not that he is a bad finisher around the rim.

The most interesting note there is that the staff is at the F4 this week….

One could assume they’d only be there if there was someone on a F4 team that may be entering the portal or they were already in the San Antonio/Austin area visiting a player and decided to catch a F4 while there
Pope addressed this on his show. He said he was required to attend the coaches meeting.

Don't most coaches go? I thought Pope said he saw Cal and Tubby at the FF last year and sat and talked with them not realizing he would soon get the Kentucky offer.

Feels like a Wheeler level transfer reach. Please God no.

Another poster said they do the coaches meeting at the F4 so that makes sense why they were there last year/this year

I would think its someone that has contacted them already.

Ehhh. I think it's pretty common for coaches/staff to attend the Final Four.

In Butlers 4 years at SDSU his 3 point shooting % was as follows:

29%
33%
34%
30%

He saved his best season of 3 pt shooting for us this year at 39%. I feel confident in saying that was due to better looks in the offense, and not being relied on as much as a scorer. I would forsee the same scenario playing out with Lowe.
