Jaland Lowe to uk

That’s on me. Thought you were referring to Lowe. Totally misunderstood what you said.

But Oweh can’t be our best player next year and us do real actual damage. I love his game, but he’s not the best player on a title team.
and if he makes the normal improvement a player does year to year? He could be all american worthy just improving that jump shot a tiny bit.

He was calling Pitt that but still he is seriously undervaluing our recruiting class, Lowe and Kam Williams.
Undervaluing how? We need an elite dude if we want to win a title. We don’t have that yet. I actually like Kam and Lowe if they’re about 7/8 on the depth chart. That’s just not the case though, at least currently.

Why can’t he be?

I suppose. But that’s not an easy fix, especially given his mechanics. Fixing a shot is easy if you’ve never had to do it. It’s about as easy as fixing a bad golf swing.

Why can’t he be?
Because he’s not good enough and his game has serious limitations. He can be the third best, maybe the second. But he’s not the best player on a title team. Just go back through the years. How many Otega Owehs are the best player on a natty?

Maybe we should ask Oklahoma how good Oweh is? If they can stop peeing their pants at the sound of his name to answer that is.
Sure. The OU that backed in the tourney and promptly got bounced. Why would they even register in this discussion? They’re nothing.

You watched him do what he did this year and your conclusion is he isn’t good enough?

Oweh is gonna be a first or second team all America next year if he returns and your acting like he is a stand in the corner guy
When thinking of oweh who I love his ❤️ and toughness. I think of martin/Richardson for FL.
They needed a Clayton!

I probably have a better grasp on basketball than about 98% of the folks on this board. Take that however you want. Just because some Loserville fan (who everyone on here would shit on to prove their own point just because) watched them play a couple times means nothing to me. It probably shouldn’t to you either, but it fits your agenda so you run with it. Cool.
It's not that deep. You can cheer for an awful team and still identify which opposing players you don't want to see again.

Don't get me wrong, we all acknowledge you as a basketball genius around here, but..

A 3rd option on most teams is a stand in the corner guy, and yes oweh being a first or second team all America is very true. I’m convinced you didn’t watch him play at all
You can be convinced of anything you want. Just because you say it’s going to happen doesn’t make it true. Here’s what I know. This is fact. He was the best player on a team that finished T6 in conference and got drug in the S16. He was also second team all SEC and didn’t make the AA list, even honorable mention. I’d also never “stand him in the corner” simply because he doesn’t shoot it all that well. So yeah, pretty much inaccurate all the way around. But I’ll give you an A for effort. You’re trying hard.

I like his overall game, I just hope his shooting improves. It’s funny how rating services are. On3 has him not rated at all that I can find 92 overall and 24/7 has him 20th in the entire portal. Hopefully he turns out to be more of the stud rating! Go Cats.

On3 just hasn’t ranked him yet. His rating suggests he’ll be higher than Williams who is #35 so I’d say he’ll be in the 20s there.

Eagles you have the basketball IQ and knowledge of a pile of horseshit. A literal pile of shit knows more about basketball than you do. He will be one of the best returning guards next year and a first or second team all American. It’s not like his entire backcourt was injured all of conference play having an impact on them finishing T6 in the conference or anything. And again every argument you make is what you would do. You’re not the damn coach, stop acting like you know more the coaching staff. I wouldn’t want you coaching my nieces first grade team.

Good... LORD, People.

This dude is a slasher who can get to the paint easily. Exactly the player y'all were clamoring for last year. He shoots 88% from the charity stripe and shot 35% from three the year before last.

Clearly, this year's 27% or whatever it is from 3 is an anomaly that's probably there because he was the only good player on a garbage team and was tasked with too much.

If we actually got this dude, it's an INSANELY good pickup. Him and Otega will get to the rim at will next year.
If we he just dropped in from Mars and all we had on him was film I’d take him right now!

We suffered from an inability to go north and south off the dribble this year when teams extended the D and took away our sets. This kids is a natural at it. I’ll go on record saying we get down crow eatin next year on this thread

For the people acting like Lowe is some nobody, have you bothered actually looking at where he is rated and how he compares to last year's transfers?

On3 doesn't appear to have given Lowe a portal ranking yet. But 24/7 has and they have him as the 20th best prospect in the portal for 2025.

Here is where our 2024 portal commitments ended up in the On3 rankings:

Jaxson Robinson #21
Brandon Garrison #23
Amari Williams #27
Koby Brea #49
Andrew Carr #65
Lamont Butler #89
Otega Oweh #109
Kerr Kriisa #113

Lowe may end up being rated HIGHER than anyone we brought in last year. Kam Williams is top 30ish, depending on which site you look at. And unlike last year, we have 3 top 30 high school school recruits coming in this time. And we still have 2 or maybe 3 more portal spots to fill.

We are well on-track to surpass the talent level we brought in last year. Garrison and Oweh return and I expect both of them to improve. Current freshmen Chandler, Noah and Perry return and they will likewise be much improved after a year in the system and getting adjusted to college. We are bringing in 3 really, really good freshmen who are just below superstar status. And we'll likely end up adding Folgueiras and one of Wesley Yates or Jaron Pierre to the backcourt. And we might even land another quality big, such as the big hoss from Syracuse who just hit the portal. But the overall quality of this year's recruits and transfers will definitely end up being higher. And unlike last year, we have some people returning. We shoukd actually be in pretty damn good shape heading into next season. I don't see any reason for all the negativity, despite missing on some portal guys I would have liked to have added.

Butler was a certified defensive star who was known as a clutch player .. this dude is no where near Butlers bonfires. I hope he ends up great but he's not nearly as good as Butler coming in.

Really looks more like a panic signing than a boom get. Jmo I don't know ow much about him I never saw him play just reading he's not a lot to be thrilled with .
There’s plenty of film on him, we don’t have to guess. It’s basketball guys Go watch for yourself and see

I watched Lowe quite a bit last season and the kid is super talented. Athletic, can create his own shot and gets to the free-throw line at will. I'd attribute the low shot percentages to him being forced to do everything for that Pitt offense.

One thing that should give you hope regarding his three-point % is that he shoots almost 90% from the free-throw line. There aren't many bad perimeter shooters that can shoot that well at the line and so I'd expect with the right coaching and a better surrounding cast (especially shooters), the kid will thrive.

You got a good one and a very underrated pickup IMO
People who watch film and know basketball can see that pretty easily. Those that just read lists on web pages struggle with it.

Well yesterday I got caught up a bit on his shooting percentages before I ever seen any video of his play.

Jaland has a nice shot which I almost expect his 3 pt % to go up around the mid 30s just being in a more structured offense. Smooth stone with a good follow through.

Can get to any spot on the floor and takes great angles to set up his defenders.

Is strong, but also bouncy and controls his body after contact very well.

Can finish around the rim with either hand.

The only problem I seen was he was always moving when he pulled up to shoot. Either drifting, falling or floating which I'm sure led to his poor shooting percentages.

Sign me up! I'm very excited to see him in a UK uniform.
I had glimpses of De Aaron Fox😁
