I've seen him listed At 6'5"
Now teams can pack it in on us.26 percent three point shooter. Is this one we should be excited about?
Hey Ron remember last year when we missed out on the guard from st Mary's and he chose uconn over us and the same Nellie's that were biatchin then are the same ones that are biatchin now that st Mary's guard never saw the floor at uconn this year nevermind the Nellie's and trolls welcome to kentucky jalandAcaden Lewis and Koby Brea were pretty big wins, were they not? We beat out UCONN for Lewis if I’m not mistaken.
No problem. There are stats and then there are reasons behind them. I posted everything that needed to be posted about him in one post. He played very well against good teams, not just ACC teams. I will take other coaches and scouts opinions of him over arm chair posters wanting to be scouts but only look at the averages as the see all be all, not dig into them and try to understand why they are. A lot of want to be basketballs who are only interested in the players THEY think will make UK great. If it is not someone they want (and do not have a clue other than reading stats and never watch the player play), they are going to do what they do best, be a closed minded, uninformed want to be expert. I do not know it all, but what I do is peel back the layers of a players info and be open minded. I do know 100% without a doubt, surrounded by better players in aa structured offense, this kid will prove just how good he is. he will NOT have to jack up shots at the end of the shot clock, go one on 3 trying to make plays because no one else will or can. He will not have to play out of control and force things. ALL of that will be less of a factor simply by being on a more talented team in a structured offense, not a ISO one on one street ball system.A big thank you for this info.
Does he have to be a good shooter or can we teach him how to shoot? Now we need a righty? 🤣

At least he's taller than Wheeler.Very poor defender and three point shooter. Hope in Pope I guess
How much did we dog the ACC for being terrible this year? 3rd team in one of the worst conferences doesn't scream PG1 for a Blue Blood that's trying to make Final Fours and win the SEC?He was a 3rd team ACC performer lol
I saw that. His FG% from the floor does not reconcile with his excellent free-throw shooting percentage. A head-scratcher …26 percent three point shooter. Is this one we should be excited about?
So if I follow your logic Perry is a much better player because he played in a tough sec, correct? And I assume you dogged Butler big time because of his prior conference, correct? How much did we dog the ACC for being terrible this year? 3rd team in one of the worst conferences doesn't scream PG1 for a Blue Blood that's trying to make Final Fours and win the SEC?
Think we beat Duke for Lewis after UConn got a different commitment. Was still highly coveted and a great get. Very underrated.Acaden Lewis and Koby Brea were pretty big wins, were they not? We beat out UCONN for Lewis if I’m not mistaken.
Just cuz the conference wasn’t good doesn’t mean there wasn’t good players. How much did we dog the ACC for being terrible this year? 3rd team in one of the worst conferences doesn't scream PG1 for a Blue Blood that's trying to make Final Fours and win the SEC?
Look, I'm not saying he's not a good player. I like him as a guard in rotation. Is he an obvious upgrade over Butler and the PG1 on a title contender? Probably not.
I could be, and hope I am wrong. Feels like we settled after missing out on top targets. Few of his stats or metrics are that impressive for this level.
Yep, the 8th guy is the same as the starter and best player, sure. I think you know the difference. So if I follow your logic Perry is a much better player because he played in a tough sec, correct? And I assume you dogged Butler big time because of his prior conference, correct?
UK isn’t competing for titles with guys like this. He’s fine but too many limitations to be starting lead guard.I think he has potential
He can play well in a right system
His tool is here
You do lean pessimistic so no change thereHow much did we dog the ACC for being terrible this year? 3rd team in one of the worst conferences doesn't scream PG1 for a Blue Blood that's trying to make Final Fours and win the SEC?

3rd all ACC is pretty good. I don't see how getting an award is a bad thing. And he's only a soph. How much did we dog the ACC for being terrible this year? 3rd team in one of the worst conferences doesn't scream PG1 for a Blue Blood that's trying to make Final Fours and win the SEC?

True. Be honest though, are you coping a little or genuinely psyched?Just cuz the conference wasn’t good doesn’t mean there wasn’t good players.
I lean realistic. I try not to be too negative or positive. Not good to be doom and gloom or a sunshine pumper. I like the kid as a player, just not sure he's a title team PG. Should always be our goal imo.You do lean pessimistic so no change there
I like the pickup if Pope can fix Butlers shot then why can’t he fix his shot?? Dude is considered a dynamic player maker and he’s an excellent FT shooter. I think 2/1 asst to ratio and 2 steals a game.True. Be honest though, are you coping a little or genuinely psyched?
I'm not even saying he won't be great. I don't know. There are some guys we KNOW are though, and we whiffed on them.
I hope he makes me look bad. I'll happily be wrong.
I will say I like the add. I'd just feel better with a truly elite PG1 as well. Will be hard to bring another in now.I like the pickup if Pope can fix Butlers shot then why can’t he fix his shot?? The only player I’m not excited about possibly adding is Mgbako.
Yeah if he’s a bench piece then I’ll be fine with that but like you said doubt he’s willing to be that.I will say I like the add. I'd just feel better with a truly elite PG1 as well. Will be hard to bring another in now.
I feel the same about Mgbako also. He's a Cal wing. Super athlete, not skilled. Can't understand his system fit. If he's a rotation forward off the bench to give you size, rebounding, and athleticism I like it. Doubt he'd come for that though.
Butler shot 29% from 3 as a freshman and shot 30.2% the year before he came here. He wasn’t known to be a great shooter. He shot 39% for us because the offense gave him open opportunities. His role is to facilitate and set up the offense for others, he’s not the primary three point threat. He shot pretty poor the prior year as well. I guess he onlu has one way to go and that's up in shooting percentages.
I'll trust Pope here though. He knows way more than we do.
26 percent three point shooter. Is this one we should be excited about?
My thoughts exactly, missed on a great prospect in Lendenborg and get a 25% shooter. I’m not feeling very good right now. Obviously I’ll support him and the Cats but idk.26 percent three point shooter. Is this one we should be excited about?
When this dude plays in a final 4 and is known as the best defensive guard in the nation let me know. It’s not the same thing,Same comments were made about Butler around here when he committed. Give him a summer with the staff.
The only joke is our portal recruiting. Some of yall are a joke.
Even trying to compare this kid and Butler is laughable. Butler was a DPOY and title game experience. This kid isn’t even a good defender and hasn’t played on even a decent college team. They weren't pumped about Butler either.
Look at who we have coming back? We have no shooters. As of now this is a worse roster than the one that just got beat in the S16 and lost 10+ games. And Pitts beat writer said if you surround him with shooters and a better team he will thrive.
Two potentially good, not great, freshmen who’ve never played a game in college and a guy who can’t be depended to hit an outside shot. We desperately needed a big time shooter or major offensive threat and yet again it looks like we get neither. Looking at our outside shooting alone, we’re in trouble. His teams have to hit 3’s to win and what we have isn’t remotely good enough for that. We are going to be left praying that two fringe 5 star freshmen have huge years for us just to finish in the top half of the SEC and that’s not a position you want to be in.You don’t this is a piece of the equation? You forget about Jasper, Lewis, Oweh?
