I love reading primary history on UK, and the '78 Championship's the first of my lifetime (I was a little less than a year old when UK won #5, and grew up hearing about how great the team was).

Jack is too much of gentleman to say. He has far too much class to ever say anything of the sort, especially to the general public. Personally, I would love to hear that myself. But it just isn't in Jack to do that.

I’m just guessing but I think he would agree with the majority of the fanbase that Cal has greatly underachieved at UK, but I don’t think he will say it though.

No actually I LOVE UK basketball and have been watching them since the late 60's. Go all the way back to Coach Rupp and have only missed a hand full of games. I just hate what Calipari is doing to UK .

If you listen to the games on the radio you can tell that Goose and Tom don’t always agree with the coaching decisions. They don’t come out and say it but you can tell by their tone and little remarks. Obviously, they aren’t going to come out and bash Cal publicly. However, Goose was a Kentucky fan before he became a player and there’s NO WAY he can be happy with the state of the program.

The guy was the first UK basketball superstar that was an African American. In the documentary about the 1978 team, him and James Lee both talked about the pushback they received after committing to UK. There's probably a lot of story there to tell.

1. An incessant need to prove our fandom by either bashing the coach or placing a hedge of protection around him. Both of these are done believing you are being “a good fan”

2. Cal is doing an absolute lousy job right now and is a constant lightning rod for warranted criticism… so this is inevitable.

Cal is totally replaceable.
