It's time for the UK Athletics Admin to switch from Nike to Under Armour

What say you?
Can't help but take the bait. Nike currently controls >90% of the market share and is an established name that carriers a lot of weight with consumers, including those rare consumers that break the rivals top 10 that we, as fans, want to come to UK. Barring an ungodly amount of money that UA could offer the athletics department, can you give any logical reasons as to why they should up and leave?

Under Armour is the brand of the future. Take Jordan Spieth, he and other college athletic admin are switching to the brand of the future.

There are few scenarios where Under Armour actually overtakes Nike in the market, all of which are unlikely. If there's ever a brand that kills Nike, it'll kill Adidas and Under Armour as well, but Under Armour has been around too long, and has been stuck behind Nike for too long to really ever be considered the "it" brand.
So pass.

Maybe the golf team can switch. Seems very few other sports are Under schools.

Go Big Blue!

P.S. If Under is willing to pay UK something like 100 million - I'm sure Mitch would listen!

Charles Barkley has blatantly stated that he wishes Auburn would leave Under Armour because he feels it puts them at a disadvantage.

You don't leave an established power. Believe me, Cal wants that Nike logo on his UK shirts.

One of our local sporting goods stores dropped Under Armour because of the amount of defective shoes they were getting returned.

I have no idea what we were. Can't remember that far back. I'm just throwing out stuff.

Haha. I'm pretty sure we were converse when we rocked the denim uniforms. I am in no way saying I'm right. Lord knows I'm wrong more then right. Haha

not a terrible thought. under armour is surging big time. especially with the future generations. right now...their biggest school they are associated with is maryland because that is where they were headquartered. IF UK were to sign with them...we would be their flagship school and have first dibbs at all under armour prospects. nike is and will always be elite...but the top tier talent is being spread around the circuits more each year.

Stop. Just stop. I would be the head coach of UK before we leave Nike. Get real.

Actually that is not quite correct. UA has just been around since the 2005 or 2006ish time frame. Then it was pretty much just the tight fit shirts to wick away sweat. To be worn under your shoulder pads. Nike has been around since really the early 80's.

So UA is the brand with the most market share to gain and that will come from foreign markets and in the shoe market where Nike is king. UA is going to be the more innovative of the two at this point....though Nike showed what it can do by building Oregon into a football power. O is the "home" of Nike and its no coincidence that a resurgent Maryland is the home of UA.

This might be the worst idea I've ever seen.

Under Armor is terrible.

Literally, just the worst.

As an UA stockholder, I wholeheartedly support this motion!:sunglasses:

I am invested into both so my portfolio is up about 12% ytd where that cannot be said for the market in general. As a stock I absolutely love UA. But I have owned Nike since the early 90's and it has made me a lot of money. Actually sold some of my Nike holdings to buy my first shares of UA. I just wish it paid a dividend.
