Good morning everyone. I am not a frequent poster on the boards, but I read almost daily and enjoy hearing others thoughts/opinions/formulations.
I have been mostly tuned out since 2019 (very casual live viewership) of UKBB, due mostly to the correspondence of UKFB rise (I'm a football head first) and the continuous disappointment of the round ball program. Thought I should lay that out there.
The point of this post is to express my (solely) opinion of how next year should be viewed by the powers that be and the fanbase alike.
I believe that 3 things need to happen for Calipari to remain HC of the most storied Mens CBB program next year.
1). Final Four run AT LEAST - It has been 9 years since we have reached a FF, which is straight up unacceptable, regardless of how difficult it is to reach April in basketball
2). A culture change - UKMBB has become about everything BUT Kentucky and winning
3). Calipari's outlook as a HC need to change. He needs to put the program first and foremost. If he does this, bullet points 1 and 2 should fall in line
Calipari has worn out any good grace that may have still existed. This has to be a make or break situation. If you read all of this, thank you. Just a reminder, this is simply my personal opinion that has zero effect over Calipari's future here. Barnhart and Co. aren't my drinking buddies!
