Prepare yourself if we win big Oweh is gone. He will get drafted. Garrison could be gone too. Pope only wants 4 fresh in this class he will have to raid portal again.
Spoken like a battered fan.

Tell you what, losing guys to the NBA is about the last effing thing I care to worry about at this point.

Sit back and enjoy.

I love Owen’s game and obvious strength, but in the NBA he is an undersized wing. I have no fear of him going pro as a 2nd round pick/G leaguer vs staying here and getting a couple hundred thousand while playing for F4’s.

The part of Pope I love was a fast break where Oweh tried to behind the back to Garrison that was turned over and the camera shot to Pope who was just watching with a look like huh that’s one way to run, but he didn’t pull anyone immediately.

That was just…. Fun. It no longer felt like a chore. The players were pumped. No maniac yelling GOOOOOOOOOOOO. No stupid mid range jumpers and shot clock running down to 5 as a freshman has the ball 22 feet out.

And the crowd was actually into it, for a Rupp November crowd on a week night.

The joy is back.

my 13yo opened the basketball season at the same time as the cats tonight so I had to check in at halftime. I guess I had battered fan syndrome bc I was shocked to see us with a 20 point lead and 46 points. Would’ve been 34-27 Wright State in an alternate universe.

Cricket made a nice point about the pope family. His daughters were IN to it. Looked like they were genuinely having a good time and not there to do anyone a favor. Erin calipari sucks as much as her father.

The frozen mango lemonade at Popeyes is elite

I actually want to go to haunted house more than I want to go to aqua

BigXthaPlug & That Mexican OT have released approx 20 BANGERS in the past month or so. By far the best “new” rap I’ve heard in a long time.

If you aren't listening to Pope's postgame press conferences, you are missing out. Dude answers all questions with Mensa insight.

When asked about screaming at refs, he told a long story about going to the ref symposium in the offseason to learn just how hard a job those guys have and get to know how the refs think. Then said he tells his guys to take the approach that the refs have no power over who wins the game if we do our job right.

Meanwhile, on the KSR Rapid Reaction, one of the guys claimed that Cody Fueger was calling Wright State's OOB plays from the sidelines before they ran them. 😆

February 1 is going to be a fun one.

Man, Butler was definitely the most important addition that Pope went out and got for this team, what a gamer. My biggest worry this yr is him having to sit early for foul trouble against some of the better backcourts we’ll play.

Zags pretty damn impressive last night.

He won’t sit with two fouls for 16 minutes. Some of us have PTSD and forget things are going to be different now.

- What a breath of fresh air. It almost makes Election Night bearable. Almost.

- I know, who cares about womens basketballsucka, but still....Kenny Brooks got a raw deal, with his first game at the newly-renovated Memorial taking place on a Monday afternoon at 5, on the same night the men open down at Rupp. I know TV dictates everything, but Mitch should have put his foot down on that one. Ridiculous.

- I have no idea what to make of Gonzaga/Baylor. By the time I turned it on, it was well out of hand. Not sure which team that result speaks more to....but wow.

- Studied The Athletic's top 25, which does a nice job breaking down each team, and man...it just seems like, on paper, it's Bama, then Gonzaga and Houston, and then everybody else. I think we're just as good as 4 through 25. Every single one of those teams has major warts, imo.

- Bought my TCP basketball yearbook last night. Used to buy 3-4 different preview mags, just down to one, now. Even as jaded as I got during the Cal years, grabbing one of those off the shelves was still a great feeling.

- 24 years ago, I was nervous about the presidential election results, so my wife and I went to go see a movie ("Legend of Bagger Vance", which sucked) and then came home and went to bed so that we could wake up the next morning and find out who the new president would be. We found out weeks later (thanks, Florida). Gonna do the same thing tonight, except with "Game of Thrones", which will be a more uplifting experience.
