Everyone knows our roster. We’ve proven we can beat good teams with it I mean winning at Missouri is perhaps our 3rd or 4th best win of the year. On the road against a very good Missouri team. We will probably be close to top 10 net going into next week. We are likely a win away from securing a 3 seed if we aren’t already locked in. So here it is.

I’m thinking given the roster, given the growth, what we’ve done on the season there should be no thought of next season. It’s right now. Do we have a title team? Not likely but we have a team that were they to lose the first weekend would be a massive failure. A sweet sixteen? Meh. An elite 8? Yes. That is our mark for success imo. This season. When you have a team that is 3 seed level there is no room for a learning curve. And after all the tournament losing we are at the point where we need to hit expectations this tournament. A solid showing would help us recruit, would get fans excited about next year and most of all wash out the taste of losing in March cal left. This is a massive opportunity in front of us to get things back on track and have the sense once again that something is being built in our program.

Not changing my expectations now.. Has always been win 1 game in ncaa this year.. If they go further,, good..
That’s friggin awful. This attitude is why we’ve sucked the last 6 years

You’re no fan if you’re ok with losing. I’m serious. That’s what kills programs like our low expectations. We could lose to byu or Louisville and you’re ok. I’ll tell you we go in a 3 and don’t make it to sweet sixteen this ridiculously long honeymoon with pope will be over. We need a solid fanbase which means winning. You got the players now. You have the team now. Yeah “win one game and I’m happy”. What has happened to uk bb???

Good freaking grief. Take a valium.

Pitino went 14-14 in his first year here and some people still think he can walk on water. Pope has had some rough spots this year but we just beat our TENTH T15 program in a rebuild year. Chill. Out.

We're you seriously expecting a title this year? Seriously?

And we didn't suck the past 6 years due to the fan base. We sucked because we had a coach who practically gave up. And we were stuck in an awful contract.

I think we could make an elite 8. I’d be happy to play In the sweet 16 again and honestly that would be awesome for where we started the year at.

A bunch of gobbledeegook. The future is bright with Pope. You aren't going to get anybody that's not a clown to jump on that "failure" wagon with you.

It’s being realistic for the first year man. You have a lot of posts like these where you such and such result is inexcusable. Year 1 is about establishing your culture mixed with good results. Kentucky has overachieved this year. A sweet 16 finish would be great for this group

I doubt there’s any result that would satisfy you.

Already setting up your future post to blast pope and this team

Fraud. Nobody fooled by your fake act

Assuming we stay healthy as we are now and are a 3 seed, we have no business losing to a 14 or a 6.

So S16 is my expectation. Anything after would be gravy

This is just silly. We might be a 1 or 2 point favorite against a 6. Going into the tournament, we will almost definitely be less than 50/50 to make the Sweet 16.

We all want to make it, and we’ll have a good chance to make it, but our expectations shouldn’t be way out of alignment with reality.

Sweet 16 would be a fine result. Get there and whoever we play will be a toss up at best.

Losing in round 2 would be a disappointment, but we won’t be heavily favored in that one either.

The season has been a success. I won’t have a bad taste in my mouth unless we pull tourney one and dones like in recent years.

as usual, from the wise words of one who knows.

Bracket matrix has Ole Miss, Marquette, The Cards and St Mary's as the 6s.

Shouldn't lose that.

I mean you can, it's March, but you probably shouldn't. Not saying I'd be deeply upset if we did, we're without our only even fringe NBA talent. I get it.

Ole miss already beat our asses once. Marquette is solid and owns us n March historically.

We needed 6 threes from butler at home to beat UL by 8. Idk much about st Mary's.

Of Marquette, UL and st Mary's (we wouldn't get ole miss as the 6 probably), we would win those gamed assuming we stay healthy for 40 mins. Wouldn't be easy.

UL would lose to the 11 anyways so we would play the 11.

Are you miserable all the time or just when you wake up and find out Kentucky won.

We ve had some successful seasons the last 6 all to be ruined by losing early to a low seed. What we do in March is what this team will be remembered for as with every other team. We’ve won some regular season games I felt would be difficult with our roster but also lost some games we should have won if we had brought a sense of urgency. We need as BBN we need a run. We need to be playing for a final four and competitive in that game. That would as I say help erase and give pope that resume he needs.

Nah. What you’re talking about as “need to do” is gravy on this season.

This is more like 89-90 when we were happy just to beat Chris Jackson and Shaq, or 90-91, when we won the SEC regular season but weren’t allowed in the tournament.

See? I still remember that stuff. And I’ll still remember how much fun this season was, when Pope came in with nothing and won more top 15 games than anyone ever.

Truth is that we have overachieved all season. I agree that there will be a bitter taste if we pull a St. Peter’s or Oakland. And we will all feel even better if we get to the second weekend.

But I don’t think most of us are expecting a deep run. Hoping. Realizing it’s possible. But not expecting.

Feel however you want to feel, of course. But I don’t think you have the pulse of the fanbase. Definitely not of this fan.

We sucked in the tournament the last 6 years because of Cal.
