I'm not sure we will be, but we should have as deep and talented of a team as I've seen at VU in a long time.

We are two deep with really good players 1-5, and as disappointed as we all were with Stallings, he seems to have righted the ship and we appear to be back.

I expect VU, UK,aTm and LSU to be the class of the league next year.

We just got a transfer from Seton Hall named Sterling Gibbs who I've never heard of, but he averaged 16 ppg and 4 ast so he must be decent. I can't imagine he's better than Wade Baldwin IV, but sounds like a real good option.

I expect a lot of teams beating each other up with UK emerging on top, but not easily.

Be the favorite? Not a chance. Be competitive for a high spot? Only if they build off of what they were doing at the end of last season.

Hahahahahahahahaha!

Poythress, Ullis, Lee.... Hawkins, Wills

Skal- #1 Recruit in Nation
Briscoe- #1 PG in Class

Matthews- Top 50 Wing
Mulder- AA JUCO 2 G

No votes for Mississippi State? They just signed the top two guard in the country. They have to be pretty good......right?

Should be in the top 3 for sure.. I'll be somewhat of a Vandy fan for the next 4 years.. Y'all got Camron Justice from my old high school coming in.. He'll be a good 4 year guy.. Great from behind the arc..

Last I checked, we signed 3 quality players so far, to go along with Ulis, Lee and Poythress. Add a shooter (Mulder) to go along with a defender (Hawkins) and another shooter (Willis).

Vandy would kill to get any of the 3 latter guys btw.

If Vandy is at the top, lol, then we're tied or each a game behind.

They could be. LSU, UK, TAMU and Vandy are all going to have nice teams. I could see TAMU being right up there. Too bad Arkansas lost so much.

In years past, I would think a kid like Justice would be an immediate starter or early off the bench, but I'm not sure how much pt he'll even get as a freshman. Ahead of him are Riley LaChance and Nolan Cressler (transfer who averaged 17 ppg as a soph at Cornell). Rumor is that Cressler was the best player on the team in practice last year. So while I love Justice and his game, there is just a logjam there. Now, by the time he is a jr, I fully expect him to be a starter and stud for us.

Cam Justice has a really nice stroke, big physical body and an elite mid range game from what I could tell (granted, it was only highlights...).

The best returning stud is John Calipari. Best coach in the country.

Come on...

Cal is great, but do you really think he is the best coach in the country? I think he's the best recruiter in the country and an elite defensive coach, but that's as far as I can go in terms of *best.*

You know, this is an interesting question. Will Ben Howland be able to purchase players as well as Stansbury was able to? Early returns are in and it appears he will be able to.

Well to be fair, your original question was just as ridiculous.

With UK in the league, nobody is going to be the *favorite* other than y'all most years, but we're going to be really good. I just always like the mouth breather responses.

Like minded folks are drawn to like minded folks. Probably a reason the so-called "mouth breathers" are drawn to your topic.

The only "mouth breather" I see is the person who asked such a question, and then literally expected serious responses.

It would have been different to ask if maybe VU could win the league (which is reasonable and possible), but to ask outright if they will be the favorites is laughable, and that's why most did exactly that.

Did you read the post, or did you just read the title of the thread?

People can laugh all they want.Vandy may not be the favorite but they are going to cause headaches in SEC play.I loathe Stallings.Biggest whiner in the SEC but he does have a good young team.LeChance is going to keep getting better...Right now it's still UK at the top but Texas A'M is going to make a push followed by LSU,Georgia,Vandy,Florida,Auburn and South Carolina as my top 8.

I'm not sure on Vandy yet, I'll be interested to see how they do early next season in Maui with Kansas, Indiana, and UCLA.

You got me. I'll man up and admit that I only read the thread title. But, in my defense, most of the time with such a thread title (especially from a fan of another team), it's a waste of time to actually read the post because nothing good usually follows. Just more flaming and baiting.

Now, as for VU being able to make some noise and possibly win the league? That I can agree with as reasonable and possible. As for VU being the favorites? Not so much.

Thanks for going back and reading. I always post crazy thread titles but I usually try to be fair in what I write in the actual post. I will be interested to see what the media will say about us. We add two transfers who combined for 33 ppg and I'm not sure either will start for us. Realistically, we should be a tourney team, and I'd love it if we got a high seed and or a good draw. Not sure what will happen but I am excited for next season.

UK at Vandy will be a fun ass game.
