Someone interviewed his dad, can't recall who, and he said his son would be ready to play against UofL.If it has been posted I have not seen it.
I want to see Perry do very well at UK but I thought last night proved he really isn't ready for the speed and quickness at this level just yet.Robinson can handle it again. Perry can use that Kentucky boy fire about this rivalry to maybe have some quality minutes.
Was hoping everyone (seems that way) was wrong and he’d do ok last night. I guess not though.I want to see Perry do very well at UK but I thought last night proved he really isn't ready for the speed and quickness at this level just yet.
His main problem, to me, is that he just can't keep up or stay with his man. He is easily beaten off the dribble anytime his man wants to go by him. He's supposed to be a great shooter but I think he's putting too much pressure on himself right now and just can't buy a basket from outside even when he's totally open. This will be a big leaking and adjustment year for Perry to see if he can truly play at this level maybe next year. Was hoping everyone (seems that way) was wrong and he’d do ok last night. Too many (typical) summer reports that "this kid NEVER misses!" and whatnot. Well, yeah, neither did Josh Carrier. His main problem, to me, is that he just can't keep up or stay with his man. I didn’t see a deficiency with speed and quickness. What I saw was him missing wide open looks from three. He’s probably pressing too much knowing that if he doesn’t make them he’s back on the bench. His size (for a guy without super quickness or hops) will be a negative factor going forward, though.I want to see Perry do very well at UK but I thought last night proved he really isn't ready for the speed and quickness at this level just yet.
He’s a traditional college freshmen. 18-19 and playing against 22-23, sometimes 24-25 year olds. Not basing any future successes for him off of this season. There’s a reason Purdue wanted him so bad.His main problem, to me, is that he just can't keep up or stay with his man. He is easily beaten off the dribble anytime his man wants to go by him. You weren't watching then. He struggles to keep up on D. Allows way too many blow bys.I didn’t see a deficiency with speed and quickness.
Truth. I think most logically thinking folks knew he (and Noah and Chandler) would need at least a year. They get a ton of reps in practice obviously, and that's where they'll get better this year. Nothing wrong with that. He’s a traditional college freshmen. 18-19 and playing against 22-23, sometimes 24-25 year olds. Not basing any future successes for him off of this season. You really didn't notice a deficiency in quickness when he was on defense? I specifically watched his defense because I heard that was a real concern. I felt it was very obvious the way he couldn't keep up and guard anyone at all. I did notice the missed shots you mentioned too.I didn’t see a deficiency with speed and quickness. Yeah that’s what I saw. Noah was noticeably better on defense though not great. I think offensively he will eventually get where he needs to be. I’m not worried about the missed shots. He has only taken seven 3s and five 2s. He seems to have good awareness on offense, plays with his head up. But I hope he really commits to getting better on defense. He can’t play much right now.You really didn't notice a deficiency in quickness when he was on defense? I specifically watched his defense because I heard that was a real concern. Like we did Colgate? We will blow Louisville out of the building without Butler.
Let him heal.
No game for a week after Sat. He will be 100% for Ohio St.
We won’t need him then either to win. But once well he needs to play.
That's just a ridiculous take. He's our best defensive player, he's our point guard, he gets to the rim better than anybody on the team. He will be missed big time if he's not playing in the next two games. We will blow Louisville out of the building without Butler.

He got mauled on screens and went under on almost all of them. I give the kid props for fighting. He tried to swipe at every ball near him.You really didn't notice a deficiency in quickness when he was on defense? I specifically watched his defense because I heard that was a real concern. I agree with the idea he will improve and get better but disagree with where he is on defense. He got beat continuously one on one as he can't match the quickness and experience of older players. He just isn't there. My point is that he is currently too slow and inexperienced. I don't feel the screens are all the problem as I saw him get beat off the dribble numerous times. He is a young kid against men and will take his lumps. Just hope he can improve his lateral moves on defense and not always get behind his man. I'm pulling for him but just don't see him as a real contributor this season. And, hope I am wrong. He got mauled on screens and went under on almost all of them. I give the kid props for fighting. He needs to make a couple buckets and learn the D but he's a gamer. I think he will end up being pretty good. His shots will start to fall. I noticed he missed a couple shots and the had an open shot he passed up. That will get better. He can contribute in the right situations. But quick guards will be hard for him until he gets stronger. He will improve.
It's also a lot easier to relax when you're getting playing time with a big lead. He didn't have that to work with.I didn’t see a deficiency with speed and quickness. Totally agree with what you say and that was my point. The other poster seems to not see the same defensive deficiencies.Yeah that’s what I saw. Are you happy that we didn't blow out Colgate?Like we did Colgate?

Perry was fighting to guard his man, I'll give him credit for effort. I do think he is slow footed and lacks lateral quickness. Their guards just blew by him.
I'm hoping his shot starts to fall. He's too good a shooter for him to stay in this slump.
You don't give the enemy information. Don't let them know your plans.Maybe Pope is keeping the Cards guessing? Last update was Butler worked out a couple of days ago. And no update that I see after that.
Exactly Pope knows the assignment! You don't give the enemy information. Don't let them know your plans.
