Someone interviewed his dad, can't recall who, and he said his son would be ready to play against UofL.If it has been posted I have not seen it.
I want to see Perry do very well at UK but I thought last night proved he really isn't ready for the speed and quickness at this level just yet.Robinson can handle it again. Perry can use that Kentucky boy fire about this rivalry to maybe have some quality minutes.
Was hoping everyone (seems that way) was wrong and he’d do ok last night. I guess not though.I want to see Perry do very well at UK but I thought last night proved he really isn't ready for the speed and quickness at this level just yet.
His main problem, to me, is that he just can't keep up or stay with his man. He is easily beaten off the dribble anytime his man wants to go by him. He's supposed to be a great shooter but I think he's putting too much pressure on himself right now and just can't buy a basket from outside even when he's totally open. This will be a big leaking and adjustment year for Perry to see if he can truly play at this level maybe next year. Was hoping everyone (seems that way) was wrong and he’d do ok last night. Too many (typical) summer reports that "this kid NEVER misses!" and whatnot. Well, yeah, neither did Josh Carrier. His main problem, to me, is that he just can't keep up or stay with his man. I didn’t see a deficiency with speed and quickness. What I saw was him missing wide open looks from three. He’s probably pressing too much knowing that if he doesn’t make them he’s back on the bench. His size (for a guy without super quickness or hops) will be a negative factor going forward, though.I want to see Perry do very well at UK but I thought last night proved he really isn't ready for the speed and quickness at this level just yet.
He’s a traditional college freshmen. 18-19 and playing against 22-23, sometimes 24-25 year olds. Not basing any future successes for him off of this season. There’s a reason Purdue wanted him so bad.His main problem, to me, is that he just can't keep up or stay with his man. He is easily beaten off the dribble anytime his man wants to go by him. You weren't watching then. He struggles to keep up on D. Allows way too many blow bys.I didn’t see a deficiency with speed and quickness.
Truth. I think most logically thinking folks knew he (and Noah and Chandler) would need at least a year. They get a ton of reps in practice obviously, and that's where they'll get better this year.
