Is Popes biggest weakness the Refs?

Every home game we get an incredible amount of bad calls that we usually only get on the road. And the games on the road nearly look fixed.

I don’t like blaming refs, but I’ve never seen UK on the wrong side of so many whistles.

I wonder if Popes kindness impacts the decisions on the way the game is called. It’s nowhere near of what we’re accustomed to.

Have to ask ourselves why does one of the nicest coaches in the game need to even get "on" the officials to get proper officiating. Thats not how it should work and maybe we need to think about this at a higher level, addressing things with the SEC and NCAAT.

I would also like to take matters into our own hands: put the students on the sidelines and let them rattle the other team and the officials. Just like they do at AFH and Cameron. It's no mistake why those programs always seem to get some home cooking.

We all know the bias is real and now we know it had nothing to do with Calipari. It's an anti-Kentucky bias. Since the refs are completely unaccountable it's something we just have to live with and keep pointing it out until everybody knows it's happening. It wouldn't bother me if Duke and North Carolina got the same treatment but they actually get the bias in their favor.

Can’t blame the refs for all losses. But if you watched every game we have played this season and you still tell me that we haven’t been completely screwed in a few of those games, you are either not very smart or you don’t understand basketball. I would say you’re not an actual Kentucky fan, but you’ll go on a rant about how you are and tell me to prove it and check your post history and blah blah blah. I have nothing against you, this is about what has actually happened in a few of our losses.

I still say poppy cock, Cal used to yell all game long, and we rarely got a call because of it, yelling or not those refs come in with a disposition based on their personalities and their biases.

The greatest factor for a home whistle I’ve seen is the fan aspect. We get a few boos at the refs from Rupp but it’s tame compared to other places I’ve been. Coaches always yell at the refs and it never helps. Very few coaches get that command and respect of officials and it’s usually guys who have been at it for decades. If Pope wants to do something, he should speak out and take a fine. Make it known in the media. That’s what these refs don’t like. It will help in the regular season games but may get you blackballed in postseason when they can send you home.

Last year the theory was that our coach being such a dick to the refs was the problem. Now we’re blaming it on our coach being too nice. LOL
I was going to say this as well. It's just proof that some fans are way too fixated on the refs and in thinking they are all out to screw us.
