i know Jackson was the number 1 recruit but diallo was in the top ten. Both are extremely athletic, can create their own shot, and dive at will. The only difference is you won't see diallo assaulting a chicks car. Curious to hear what you think and if it's a fair comparison.

Furthermore, I hate it briscoe left he would of helped next yr, but I have faith cal will find another guard or two plus if we could get bam back we will be asking Isaiah who?

One thing about Jackson thought that can't be taught, evaluated, or measured is how competitive he was. The man has anger issues, that's obvious but he was a fierce competitor this year KU. Mason was good, Graham was good, but Jackson dominated games for them both definsively and offensively.

No way to know if Diallo has that same fire as Jackson.

Diallo is 6"6 Jackson at best is 6"8 and we know how inflated they measuring is. I have no doubt diallo will play with fire after sitting on the bench this yr and witnessing what we did but I don't see him being a guy who gets in trouble like Jackson did

jackson is a top 3-5 player in a much stronger class. inconsistent shooter, but better feel for the game

diallo is a freak athlete with a 6'10 wingspan. should play a lot bigger than what people seem to be expecting

was hoping he played last year as a small-ball 4

Love the fact that Diallo got to come in early. Super-raw athletic guy who needs work on the skill parts of his game. This will be a first for the one and done system, I think we will see just how good Coach Cal and KP are when they have a year and a half with a top ten player.

Agree,if we keep him here thru this year's draft,it is likely that we will but until we do it is not a sure thing.

He sure wasn't earlier in the season, which is why I hate when everybody acts like we have no shooters. Way too early to know that.

...which is why I said "is PROBABLY a better outside shooter". It's not for certain until we see Diallo in action. I wasn't under the impression that Monk would shoot like he did for most of the season.

Jackson was known as a poor shooter coming out of highschool but the other parts of his game was tremendous. He really improved his shot his first year in Kansas.

Yeah, I was basing my shooting comparison off what he did this year at Kansas and what Diallo's reputation is coming out of high school. Diallo seems to have good mechanics on his shot, good extension, nice follow through, and good arc. I expect we'll all be surprised by his outside shooting next year. The best thing for him was practicing against and shooting with Monk for half the season.

I think he is most similar to Derek Anderson, for those who've been around for over 20 years.

He is long, athletic, brash and competitive.

Good point,Diallo might be the better athlete but Anderson the more polished basketball player

Both wrong. Vernon Maxwell.
I think Jackson is terrific. he's long, quick, competitive and he became a much better shooter. He has the capability to be all pro in my opinion. Diallo is also a superior atlhlete but slightly smaller than Jackson ( more a 2 than a 3)The best comparison for Jackson is Andrew Wiggins. Diallo is definitely a better ball handler, perhaps a better defender (don't know). The better comparison is someone like Zac LaVine or the Brown kid who went to Cal and now plays for Boston. Diallo is going to turn heads. He can't shoot like Monk but he is a slightly better athlete and a much better ball handler.

I think diallo is a guy that can hurt atleast one 3 a game. He can easily be a zone buster as I see him mainly at the two but sometimes playing the 3 depending on matchups.

If I were to guess assuming we get bamba and by the grace of god bam returns I see;
Green
Diallo
Washington-can easily play the 3 or 4
Bamba
Bam.
Vanderbilt and weynen would come off the bench as they both can play the 3 or the 4 we are going to have a very good defensive team next yr. just need to add a couple shooters, and you know cal will. They will have growing pains much like 2014 but by march they will be a tough out. Plus most of those guys will return as they won't be ready yet which is great. The one big I want to add besides bagley and Zion in 2018 is shaq kid would love having shaq at the games

No. Josh has s much better motor. You never heard a coach ever say he coasted or didn't go extra hard. Josh also is way more versatile. Comparison isn't even close. A closer one would be a better ball handling billy Walker

No. Jackson is taller and can shoot. Diallo hit 20 percent of his 3s on the Nike circuit.

The best recent comparison I have is Rondae Hollis Jefferson from Arizona who now plays for the Nets.

No. Jackson wayyyy better on Defense.

LMAO that is not who he is at all. I don't like playing that game but he is an uber athlete who can run and jump with the best there is . He can drive and finish well and is shooting much better the last 6 months. He will be one of the top 2-5 sg in college.

Jackson should be the number one pick, unless a GM is worried about his lack of character, but he has the tools to be a top flight scorer, and defender in the pros adn be a dominate two guard. His combination of size, speed and athleticism doesn't come around often. He could be better than wiggins as a comparison. This is the only type of player Calipari has not snagged. that wing type player.

It will be interesting in two or three years, I bet top recuriites will be much better shooters on average, call it the Curry affect. Everyone has realized you can be on SportsCenter Top 10 draining threes as much as dunks..

Maybe DeMar DeRozan? Guy can fill it up from midrange. Gets to the rim whenever he wants. Isn't much of an outside shooter (26% this year.)

I'm kind of picturing Diallo as being - at a minimum - like a Troy Williams at Indiana or perhaps a better version of Derrick Jones at UNLV. Just superb 6'6" athletes that can impact the game in many ways.

If he can develop into being a better outside shooter than either of those guys - the sky's the limit.
