Is Dilly..

Neither one of them played much D tonight. They are both offensive studs but if that don’t change this team has a low ceiling.

If DJ would learn to use his right hand (or even go to the right) on drives to the hoop, I'd say they're different but equal. As long he keeps it tied behind his back on those drives, then they're different but Dilly is better.
DJ finished right twice tonight that was nasty, he crossed that poor kid so hard and finished right that the whole arena went whooaaaa.

Yes. But DJ a can be a hell of a player this year and brings a different dimension.
DJ is more of a get in your face dog, fights at the rim for buckets, and streaky shooter. Decent passer and shot. DJ doesn’t take as many chances and is probably more consistent in not making mistakes.

Dilly is more crafty, better handle, and more athletic. Smoother and more consistent jumper, and phenomenal passer. He makes the wow plays. Dilly is more reckless though. Doesn’t have the defensive ceiling of Wagner.

Exactly. Many times this year DJ has an open path to a right hand layup and decides to try going to the left, making it much more difficult. It is bizarre to watch.

Some people? You mean Jack Pilgrim?
There were a lot on this board. I argued with the Kirwin guy a ton. People love to throw out that a HS isn’t accredited but they have no idea what that even means and it has nothing to do with acceptance into UK or most colleges.

He sure does. He shoots way worse and misses a lot of left handed layups.
I think in like the first 3 or so games that was true. I believe they showed a graphic sometime in that stretch that made it look bad. Since then he’s made a good amount of them.

Love Dillingham’s game but can be out of control on offense and defense so let’s see how that flies with BBN when it costs us late in a game. Again I like his game and know we have to take the good with the bad.

There’s a lot of calsplaining going on with regard to the Roles of the guards and their position on the roster. I realize that Calipari has to walk a tight rope because of recruiting. Today recruiting is as fickle as it’s ever been and it’s true you have to consider the next roster by how you use the current one. But that doesn’t mean that Sheppard really shouldn’t be starting, or that there’s some mystical situation with Wagner and he’s more important to the team than Dillingham.

We’re starting who we’re starting because Calipari is always recruiting. Whatother coaches usually do is manipulate what they have to best suit the interests of the team. They deal with what comes later, to a degree.

Calipari puts recruiting first and that’s the only reason Sheppard and Dillingham aren’t starting over Wagner and Edwards.

Frankly, I believe it’s possible every single coach in America is starting Sheppard and Dillingham. Now maybe this method will work, I’m just saying if we’re being honest the rotations as it stands are 100% about recruiting and draft positions. There is never a logical situation where your best player shouldn’t touch the floor until the first TV timeout save for recruiting promises or fears to do with who they’d be starting over.

The winning rotation for Kentucky is obvious and always has been. Sheppard, Dilly, Reeves, Adou, Bradshaw. If we win a title this is the rotation that needs the bull of minutes on the floor.

Wagner needs to be on the floor. He does so much that apparently goes unnoticed to some. He's the only true pg on the team. Reed and Dilingham have been really good, but they've been really good while coming off the bench. Why change what is working? This is the best our offense has been since 2015 ,why mess with it

To me Wagner would be much better suited being the 6th man. Much less pressure when he comes in and his speed could be utilized well in that role.

I don’t think it’s a question of fixing anything broken, all of these guys are really good. It’s a question of finding the best method and I think Shep starting games would clearly benefit this team. I realize that’s not going to happen but that is 100% because of recruiting and draft stock. Make no mistake about it, Reed is the best basketball player on this team and that guy always starts for a reason.

We’re simply not doing that because of recruiting. And I’m not necessarily saying you don’t focus on that. Really, I just want the best lineup as possible on the floor in crunch time and majorly used throughout the game. That is clearly, without a doubt, Sheppard, Dillingham, and Reeves together.

Starting DOES NOT MATTER! What matters most is minutes!!!!!
And multiple games what has limited Dillingham’s minutes is Foul trouble.

Starting does matter when it comes to guys like Kahlil Whitney and Mark Coury who have no business even getting minutes. It doesn’t matter with 2 capable players who play similar minutes.

I don't necessarily agree with Bradshaw. I like Mitchell a little better in that lineup.

Just you childishly YELLING it doesn't make it any more true. Starting does matter. It's obvious to anyone who bothers to look at how many times we've had to dig ourselves out of a hole early this season. See KSU 13-1 start in the tournament. This is easily documentable. Otherwise if it doesn't matter, then why not start Sheppard?

It doesn't matter as much, but we've started slow in games all season, then Rob and Reed come in and generally get us going. I don't know about you, but I don't like getting down 5-10 points and have to come fighting back out of that.

It makes sense to play your best guys out the gate and build a lead. I'm not necessarily saying we should change the starting line up, but if we can't fix the slow starts then I personally would try some different things rather than hope I can consistently comeback after the first few minutes with my initial subs.

I’m in agreement I just don’t see it as some great outrage like starting Khalil Whitney over Quickley.

Or it could be because he's the best pg on the team. Reed started once at pg
