Good defensive effort from Kentucky. Lackluster offensive performance by Alabama and that's putting it mildly. Only Obasohan posed any problem and he really did have a great game, but literally next to nothing from the collective whole after him.

Kentucky's offensive performance wasn't all that efficient, although Jamal Murray heated up in the second half. But I do think this was a quality effort all things considered.

Have to like that Alex Poythress looked as good as he did coming back. Second time this year he's put a beating on the Crimson Tide. I thought Calipari was careful in the number of minutes he played him in the first half. Some foul trouble, yes, but also played sparingly after a fast start. Good sign.

Equally impressive was Marcus Lee. The big man produced on the boards, offensive and defensive, and did about what you hope for on lobs.

Tyler Ulis' shot wasn't falling consistently but another great game from the Cats' point guard. Just drops a cool ten assists and it's almost like nothing special. Just something you believe's going to happen. Really amazing that Murray scores 23 and Ulis dishes ten assists and it's not a huge news item.

Isaac Humphries had four points and four boards, giving more quality minutes. He and Murray tussled for rebounds a couple of times so really Humphries' rebounding total could have been better.

Skal only got nine minutes, Matthews with just five minutes.

Also, should be noted that after an ice cold start Briscoe actually started playing pretty well on offense. Started 0-4, finished 4-11 and hit back to back free throws.
