Indiana head coach Mike Woodson is contemplating stepping down and retiring per Goodman

It’s not about coaching acumen that he won’t be hired at top 50 type higher education schools.

Maybe IU is not in that group? But they think they are.

Someone like UL would hire him though. That would be worse.
If I was a IU fan I would be elated to have him. Heck I wanted him here. He may be a terrible person allegedly but he’s a darn good coach. I’m so happy with who we have though and wouldn’t trade

Right but you dismissed the 2022 team that beat national champs in a blowout in Lawrence, destroyed UNC, had the NPOY, one of the best offenses under Cal until they started getting decimated with injuries, finished the season as a 2 seed and selectively decided they weren’t a contending team to make your point. Then, using that same thought process you had to state that Saint Peters was a contending team. That’s the point. I get Cal isn’t beloved but we don’t have to be dishonest about what happened

2022 wasn’t competing. They were sputtering into the tournament and were a shell of themselves. 2020 Ill definitely consider but no way did 2022 look like they had a chance at a title at any point in March

Maybe the poster knew that already. Could be one of those things like where you kiss your wife and pretend it is Jessica Alba 🤣
No, I searched on here for Tom Crean gifs, and that came up. I wasn't paying attention and I posted it as Tom. He's giving me a hard time because I made one mistake in my life. :)

It was a goofy mistake on my part. It is funny though.

runt's rant #3,701 ..... in..... 3 .... 2.... ...1.......

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't HOPE for anything when it comes to the Indiana Hoosiers. I ENJOY seeing them lose every time they play a game of basketball. I have since 1974 when, as a 5 year old "rival" fan, went with his dad in a FAMILY FULL OF HOOSIERS and it was the WORST experience in ANY GAME of ANY SPORT I have ever and i mean EVER been to in my entire life. Each time I've been there, each time I interact with Hoosier fans, it is enragingly trying my good man's patience.

If it weren't for the fact all my aunts and uncles and cousins and everyone were with us when we saw games at Bloomington, I KNOW the treatment would be far worse. I've seen it with my own eyes. I mean, it actually took FAMILY Hoosiers to keep some people from being complete jackasses towards me simply because I wear Kentucky blue??

And It never got any better from THOSE PEOPLE.

So I never want to see us play them in any regular season game, let them EARN it and make it in the NCAA tournament. Because I hope they lose every game and save my most venomous sports hatred for every single one of them.

High school basketball was always the be all and end all for Indiana folk. It always was. Knight was the most insufferable A$$hole and incredibly arrogant mean , I swear, I cant say anything good about the man. Lord help me he has passed and I respect he was a great coach but he came across and always did as the most insufferable human being. I dont want to speak ill of the dead, but it tries my patience.

Because you have to EARN my DISrespect. And I can say very few indiana "fans" or anyone associated with that program I could say something positive and kind and respectful towards. Let alone respect. But there are some out there to this day.

I know I am in the minority after seeing the fall from so long ago

1987

And meanwhile, Kentucky basketball and BBN ??? continues to BE THE NEEDLE ! Indiana has long since become irrelevant because they ARE irrelevant and have made themselves so. Let them hire WHOever.

KENTUCKY NEED NOT VALIDATE THEM AT ALL by playing them.
If they want the great "rivalry" for the sake of college basketball (whatever the hell that could mean) then let them earn it by having a season they can play well enough in t and make it in the NCAA tournament.

Let ASS hall collapse and rot, I hope nobody gets hurt from the falling in roof. Let Indiana stay the laughingstock as a cautionary tale for every university that thinks and acts the way they have done for so long. They always NEEDED Kentucky more than we ever needed them for a rvalry. Let them die a slow agonizing death.

I'll continue to merrily bump the thread when they suck thats a legendary thread here forever, and Hoosier fans can celebrate the return of Tom Crean, or get that LSU guy, Will Wade, yeah that whiny punk a$$ bitch would fit in good for them there in Loosier land. Whatever. They will still lose. NO HOPE for them and the way they think treating people like that.

And I rail against scheduling them, and I know it'll come in the regular season again, but I would prefer to just watch them BURN. It's a trash dumpster fire that has been going on for decades. LET THEM BURN. let them take their rivalry and HOPES to someday get to earn any respect and SHOVE IT permanently.

there are so many reasons why they can just stay irrelevant. And they should. For everyone's sake.
Staying dead and irrelevant would be best for everyone.

I'm all for letting by gones be by gones, but for the Hoosiers, it would have to make some kind of collective sense of respect emerge before I'll have anything to do with them. I'll never go back to Bloomington nor put up with any of those fans again.

GOD I hope Hoosier Joe can hear this. He's one of them. Insufferable.

Now .....

back to your regularly scheduled programming !

end runt's rant #3,701 .....

Dusty May is who I’m hearing the most. I don’t know why my IU friends think I give a shit but they keep messaging me. They have been very complimentary of Pope so I guess I’ll let it slide. They’re saying Dusty May at the top with Beard second but they’d rather have May because of Beards baggage. Mays buyout is 4 mill. I guess he still has family just south of Bloomington and his mom is an usher at IU football and basketball games. Makes a lot of sense.
