Indiana head coach Mike Woodson is contemplating stepping down and retiring per Goodman

I have no interest in a border state rival with big donors become good again in bball and competing with us. I don’t even understand your point of view.
To each their own. I wanted UL to become relevant again because it helps CBB and the rivalry. I don’t want IU or UL to be as good as us but yeah I like them to be relevant. IU hasn’t been good in a very long time. I can understand the view of not wanting that also. 👍

I’ll do you one better: I hope we have as many rivals as possible and they never lose. Not even against us.

I just can’t fathom wanting more competitors for championships.
IU isn’t competing with us for titles. If anything they help spread titles out more among UNC, UConn, Duke and KU during the years we don’t win. The less any of those are relevant means one of those others could be going on a run. I do not now and never will see IU as even close to paralleling Kentucky. I see no reason to fear Indiana

“Help spread titles out” wtf lmao. Your posts in this thread make me feel like I’ve had a stroke.

I’m not trying to upset anyone lol. It wasn’t that serious to me. I am not afraid of Indiana. I would like Beard to be out of the SEC. Seeing that guy multiple times per year is a bigger concern to me

The real mistake they made was getting rid of Sampson
I don’t think they had a choice. He was given like a five year show cause I think. If that happened in 2024, sure they just tell the NCAA to pound salt. But back then I dont know what option they had.

If you’re upsetting anyone that’s on them. Just busting your balls a little lol. I do agree that Beard is a beast. If the unthinkable were to happen with Pope, he IS the list for me.

Just dont let Indiana go after Bruce Pearl. Would really hate to have IU relevant again. Their fans are insufferable. Especially the Damon Bailey years under coach Knight!

I would rather they stay in the basement where they belong. Shitcanning that annual game was the best decision Cal made here. They don’t deserve oxygen from Kentucky unless it’s just to keep a catastrophic fire burning.

I’m really surprised on the backlash. I have zero fear of IU but I sense others do. They are beyond irrelevant. If it makes the board happy, I hope they hire Chin Coleman.

Yeah, I don't remember the details. But it was NCAA related.

I mean they have mark cuban and lots of other billionaire alumni, Indiana and Indianapolis have very good recruiting (much better than Kentucky), they have a large passionate fan base, and they have a history of success. I mean what exactly is so hard to understand about people not wanting them to have a top coach? You don’t think if they kept Sampson they’d be in the top 5 regularly like he has Houston? He was already getting pros like Eric Gordon while he was there. They were obviously a powerhouse under Knight. They also have incredibly obnoxious fans to boot.

Ok fair enough. Bad post on my part
