This team goes no where with a 6-3 forward who shoots 40 percent from the free throw line. He allows his man to help off him clogging lanes for Ulis and Murray. His presence shuts the offense down at crunch time. Next, too many mismatches exist on defense making Kentucky too small across the board. I like Briscoe, but he should only play as the point, when Ulis rests on this team. This team has options. Mulder would stretch the floor. Matthews could add physical edge. Nice win today, but it took a sensational shooting day.

I've posted this for a month and a half for those who think they run this board. Kentuckys half court offense dries up in a possession game playing 4 on 5. Anyone who cannot see this is in denial. Most don't realize how small they are with there existing lineup.

Mulder for Briscoe you may gain some outside and free throw shooting (if he ever gets fouled), but you lose a ton of other things that should be obvious enough that I shouldn't have to sit here and name them.

Matthews for Briscoe? I'm not so sure you gain a single thing. His shot is just as bad as Briscoe's, if not worse, and Briscoe does everything else better than him. The idea is to help the team get better, not make them worse.

It took a sensational shooting day to win? Take away some lucky shots and some stalling at the end, we might have won by 30.

More than just shooting today. Players like hump stepped up and did some good things. We played some solid defense as well. We also hustled well which is half the battle.

But we've got a ways to go I agree.

He's a 6-3 bull who cannot shoot at all. They cannot win close games like this.

We won by 19
We lost after having a 21 point lead in Knoxville. Don't be so shallow. All those threes that went down today made it a 19 point game. Do you think this team is going to shoot like that every game? Not even close.

It is what it is. It's not an ideal situation but playing Briscoe is the best option we have. At least you know he's gonna play hard nosed defense and rebound for you. Sometimes he may even hit an occasional jumper also. I hoped we could get some contribution from Matthews but he's just getting worse every game it seems.

Tues. people were wanting to bench Murray..... go figure

Please don't say it again. Because you don't know what you are talking about. Briscoe plays excellent defense. He puts lots of pressure on the defense with his penetration. He's a terrific passer. On most days he's an excellent finisher at the rim. He's a critical part of the only identity this team has: Three superior ball handlers and passers who can overwhelm defenses. He needs to break out of his FT slump, and be more selective with when he shoots. Replacing him in the line-up with Mulder or Matthews would be ludicrous.

Um 3s were only part of it. We played some really good defense at times and rebounded very well. Do you think this team is going to blow many 21 point games? Not even close. Just a fluke situation where we hit a wall after going up 21 on our second road game in 2 days after a heartbreaking loss. And yes I know we lost a 10 point lead vs auburn but 2 games does not make it a trend. The refs allowed Ku to come back from a 9 point lead.

Why are you being such a negative Nancy today after a great win? Your usually not like that?

I agree. He plays hard but he can only score on layups. If he had to earn his playing time like some of the other guys, he would never see the floor. He is a big time recruit but so far he has under performed just like Skal but he gets to play while Skal sits. They both should sit based on how they are playing.

I think we need to back off on blaming the refs simply because it's an every game thing now.
Yes, we played great defense, no doubt about it but I'm seeing a problem with our offense that concerns me. I think Brickso needs to stay in the lineup but our offense is terrible. Two guys move and the rest stand there and help the defense clog the lane.
I'm not being negative at all. I just know this offense will not beat top teams and Murray isn't going to hit 8 threes in every game.

I'm not saying Briscoe is a bad player. I'm saying he is a bad fit.
I disagree. Briscoe's is the most aggressive driver and one of the best finishers on a team that is geared to drive and finish at that the rim. Bad shooting aside, seems like he fits right in to me. All this team really has on offense is a three guard attack. I'm not so sure sitting one of those guards, and best players on the team, will make the team better

This team's problem is obvious. They get zero consistent inside production from the four and five positions. The other team isn't dumb and knows this. They put all of their focus and effort into limiting the guards. The guards are then forced to try and make a play anyways, because there's not a consistent post scorer to dump the ball into. Having that option does a lot for an offense in creating space. That's why some of the drives look forced... because they are. The guards really don't have much of choice.

That's a bag of dung.

I thought some people said we get home cooking? This was yet another home game where the opponent shot more FT's than us.
Maybe it's not the refs. Maybe it's something we are doing. We put zero pressure on the defense when we have the ball. We take a lot of jump shots and we stand around. With our guards we should be moving our bigs out of the paint and letting our guards penetrate and create.
