If we miss on bamba and diallo leaves

It wont be good. Bamba seems way more important. We have no proven interior player. SKJ may be that guy but the fact that he couldn't even get a minute of playing time is not promising as where we can simply count on him. Richards, if you take off your blue glasses, sure looks like a project on offense and needs tons of work on his rebounding and hands. Wood chopper is not the biggest guy either and even got a few minutes over SKJ but not much.
I hsve watched Richards play 4 games now he more offensively advanced than Bamba even has an ok handle. The hands thing Biancardi from espn keeps saying all I know have seen him coral full court football passes and about 4 really difficult one handed athletic oops. He is has more post moves now than Towns came in with and 250 lbs to back it up what are you basing it so called unbiased opinion on? Only real weakness Richards has is he a little rough and there for foul prone have not seen rebounding listed as a weakness anywhere since his jr year with 2.5 years of experience

Put down the bottle.

Put down the bottle.
Put down the bottle.
There is this new thing it's called the internet. It has neat stuff. Like Richards coach at the hoops summit giving an interview on Richards, Miles Simon who coached against him and did color at the Jordan Brand game refuting Biancardi on Richards having bad hands and being a more than capable rim protector the HS games where Richards played right with Bamba and Carter, coach Cal giving an interview about Towns having no inside game when he got here. Towns was a perimeter player in HS and for the Dominican team. Richards has always played center and more post moves comming in. if Bamba did not have the other worldly length he would not be ranked above Richards. All of that is just a few clicks away. So when you come down off the Meth look that stuff up

It

It was unreadable. No way to refute what cannot be read.
Bwahaha translation not able to refute what I said. Go back to telling everyone how Johnson will just be a role player here if he plays at all and Diallo will start the 3 and ur other pathetic takes

Richards and Vanderbilt are lotto picks in 2018. I wouldn't be surprised if Washington isn't OAD. Also, don't forget Shia, he had the largest jump in rankings...going from a 4star to 5star...that tells me he is expanding his game exponentially.

@Dablueman I agree with you on Richards. He's very underrated, IMO. Dude has some good footwork. Also, like you mentioned, guys with bad hands don't throw down one handed power dunks off of an alley oop. Especially when said player catches the pass well back behind his head.

I like your post. In Richards case the 3 all-star games I've witnessed if he got the rebound he turns and hits someone running the floor. On offense he doesn't touch it enough because most everyone tries to make themselves look good.

We will be in tournament 100%. The huge upside is that this is very much like 2011 again and we will be setting up for a title run in 2019 with a few solid guys staying and another #1 class.

We will lose Bamba, Richards, Diallo, Vanderbilt, Washington, Gabriel and possibly Sacha next year. Better get used to it. It is UK. It's why they come and why they leave.

Pretty much, yep. Although, I think we might keep one of those. Is Washington in a hurry to go to the NBA? That may sound like a stupid question, but I think he lived in the state of Kentucky during part of his life and grew up a Big Blue fan.

Starters

G Green- 5-star
G Johnson- top grad transfer
F Vanderbilt- 5-star
F Gabriel- 5-star
F Richards- 5-star

Bench

G Gilgeous-Alexander- 4-star
G Baker- 4-star
F Washington- 5-star
F Killeya-Jones- 5-star
F Wynyard- 4-star

That's more than enough talent. Experience is the issue. I think that Johnson might be more important than Bamba for that very reason. We are really young, Bamba and Diallo won't change that. Johnson, on the other hand, helps in that area. Also, he helps in the shooting department as well.

After reading some of these posts, I guess there's no use in watching next season. Then again we could just wait and see if Diallo comes back and/or see who else signs.

We are ***ked if that happens. But hey at least we will be coming off a great 10 win Football season. Personally i could live with a down round ball season as long as everyone returns.

A TOURNAMENT TEAM? REALLY?

8 5* players along with the best grad transfer in the ncaa this year.

Green, Johnson, Vanderbilt, WG, Richards with SGA, Baker, Washington, and Tai.

Not preseason #1, but FOR SURE a NCAA team.

I'd guess a 24-10 type season with a 4-8 seed that could go as far as the bracket matchups allow.

That's 8 EXTREMELY strong players for Cal to work with for a year.

We'd struggle against quicker, 3 guard type teams. Our frontline would be a force to be reckoned with, though.

SGA, Green, and Baker would need to grow up FAST for us not to see some ugly early season losses.

I'd expect Calipari to sign another guard. Either a reclassification or possibly another grad transfer. If that scenario were to take place. Who knows. Maybe Cal would find another Jamal Murray type player that would take HD's spot...

I find this thread pretty unrealistic, though. I see VERY LITTLE chance we don't end up with HD, Bamba, and Cam before calling it a day. I always am a sucker for playing out "What ifs...", though!

I trust in Cal and know we will be a serious contender every year with him at the helm. I cannot wait for next season to start, so excited!

All in my completely worthless opinion as always.

Who knows? I think a lot of fans would be less excited about next season than in a very long time. We'd still have enough talent to make the final four but as a Cinderella team and blue bloods don't usually get that far in such a scenario but who knows, hopefully that doesn't happen.

Yeah we're a tournament team. Just not a contender. All Cal needs is another Anthony Davis and MKG and talented upper classmen and a shooter to win the tournament. There are lots of AD's out there. Shouldn't be a problem

People in Hell would stand a better chance of getting Ice Water!

OLD STOLL FIELD GUY!
