I'd say Cal would gladly still take Cam Johnson, but I don't know if Johnson would commit (assuming Diallo came back). If Knox committed along with Bamba, I'd say we would start:

C. Bamba/Richards
PF. Vanderbilt/Washington
SF. Knox/Gabriel
SG. Diallo/Johnson
PG. Green/Alexander
Bench: SKJ, Baker,

In my mind, it would depend on whether Johnson would be comfortable with having a couple guys maybe in front of him in the rotation. He's not starting regardless unless Knox commits elsewhere and Diallo stays in the draft. We need shooters though, and Calipari most likely wouldn't turn down him down if he still wanted to commit. CoachX also said that he was Kentucky's to lose "If they still had room". With Bam staying in the draft, we will have a spot for him.

Im guessing you haven't seen Vanderbilt play. He can play pf but he will start sf here. Gabriel will back up either Bamba or Washington at the 4 with Richards starting at the 5. If Bamba starts at the 5 then Gabriel or Washington start at the 4. Vanderbilt will be one of the best ball handler passers on the team. Richards is projected borderline lottery next season. He is raw but is actually a better offensive player at the 5 then Bamba. He is 250 and if you ever watch him play he is a bully kinda like Magloire even said he was better shot blocker than Bamba in an interview at the Jordan game. It was a little tongue in cheek as the idiot interviewing him wanted to ask a shot blocking big how nice it could possibly play beside a shot blocker like Bamba. It pissed Richards off a little. That crazy uncle is well known in the AAU circuit. Is a personal trainer to many top recruits through the years. He was in on meetings with Coach K & staff concerning Thornton. They told him how he'd get used what to work on before arriving etc. They did lie! K desperately needed a PG, none were available so he told this Thornton & family what they wanted to hear to get him to reclassify. Duke did nothing of what they said leaving family frustrated & with a sense of betrayal. Kid gave up McDonald's, Jordan, Hooper Summit...and all the stuff an elite high school player gets to do in exchange for a frustrating season. BTW, getting a point guard was Brandon Ingram's families condition of him picking Duke. Ingram announced for Duke a few days after Thornton reclassification. Yep....Used!

That crazy uncle is well known in the AAU circuit. Is a personal trainer to many top recruits through the years. He was in on meetings with Coach K & staff concerning Thornton. They told him how he'd get used what to work on before arriving etc. They did lie! K desperately needed a PG, none were available so he told this Thornton & family what they wanted to hear to get him to reclassify. Duke did nothing of what they said leaving family frustrated & with a sense of betrayal. Kid gave up McDonald's, Jordan, Hooper Summit...and all the stuff an elite high school player gets to do in exchange for a frustrating season. BTW, getting a point guard was Brandon Ingram's families condition of him picking Duke. Ingram announced for Duke a few days after Thornton reclassification. Yep....Used!

Dukes biggest fault with Thornton was probably mis-evaluating his capabilities. He played 26 minutes per game and only average 2.5 assists while shooting 39% from the floor. You can't run P&R with that.

They actually tried running the offense that way early in the season but then Amile Jefferson went out for the year with injury and they realized Allen and Ingram could both score 20 points a night and everything else went out the window.

I guess Cal is trying to sell Knox and Johnson on playing some SG. Don't really see it but whatever gets them on campus. Now if Diallo leaves it is a different story. I think Alexander will get a lot of the backup SG minutes this year.

Im guessing you haven't seen Vanderbilt play. He can play pf but he will start sf here. Gabriel will back up either Bamba or Washington at the 4 with Richards starting at the 5. If Bamba starts at the 5 then Gabriel or Washington start at the 4. Vanderbilt will be one of the best ball handler passers on the team. Richards is projected borderline lottery next season. He is raw but is actually a better offensive player at the 5 then Bamba. He is 250 and if you ever watch him play he is a bully kinda like Magloire even said he was better shot blocker than Bamba in an interview at the Jordan game. It was a little tongue in cheek as the idiot interviewing him wanted to ask a shot blocking big how nice it could possibly play beside a shot blocker like Bamba. It pissed Richards off a little. What are the perks? The education would be awesome if you planned on staying but Knox isn't . I don't get it really. The kids that transfer say they were lied to. What do the kids that transfer from UK say? I've never seen where any of them say Cal lied to them. One reason I've warmed on Cal over the years. At least he seems to care about the kids.

Call me insane, but I still think our initial starting lineup is Green, Diallo, Johnson, Vanderbilt, and Bamba.

Covers every single weak spot that could be used against us while leaving us what is likely the nation's best bench in SGA, Washington, Gabriel, Richards, and SKJ. I see those 10 as fighting for Calipari's main 8-9 man roster spot. Baker and Tai could always surprise me and try to make that top 8-9. With the lack of guards, I'd say Baker has the better chance if he busts his ass.
