I’d shut it down for the season ala Sharpe. He’s cashed in heavy on NIL, is hurt, has an offensive line that might get him killed, an offensive coordinator that is dear-in-headlight ala Gran, and is already recognized as top tier draft pick, where the real money will be. It would be a prudent business I could not blame him for.

Two things.

Will Levis isn't Shaden Sharpe.
And, Mark Stoops isn't Cal.

That crap won't fly.

I said this before the scar game that if we lost he may not come back. Don’t be surprised. Nothing left to play for

I don't think Levis quits on UK. However...his play HAS GONE DOWN since all the talk about him n the draft started. Reading your own press clippings is a thing....he isn't the Levis of last season for whatever reason.
His play has went down with the coordinator change. He isn't allowed to just play football anymore. The new guy wants him to play like an NFL QB in the college game. We don't have the Oline for that. He has to make plays with his feet to keep drives alive and he is being told not to.

Isn't that what he's being told Tho? That he's going # whatever n the draft, into a PRO offense? Scag sucks for sure but they said n the broadcast that he plans FOR his QB. We can't have an OC that play calls for a NFL QB and a QB who isnt n the NFL yet. Our staff lost this game for us. But Levis didn't help us any. Better choices last game and he isn't injured for this game. At what point do we start thinkin hes tryna save his draft stock. Idk. I don't trust him anymore. But ima pessimist so lol.

Levi's is a competitor. Just look at some of the runs he made last year. The new OC is trying to mold him into an NFL QB and it's costing us football games. Levi's was going to be one of the top QBs in the draft regardless of what game plan the new OC put out there..

Geez, what a pansy mindset. Thank God Levis doesn't think like you do. I'm pissed like everyone else here, because I thought that we could have a really special year, but folding and quitting like a (insert lack-toughness insult here) is not acceptable IMO.

So you mean the two games he played against d1 competition since then?

Will Levis, at best, will come back and play for Vandy and Louisville. 0.00% chance he is with us these next 3 games. He already got his $1.5m bag and he can only lose draft status Vs the murderers row we have coming up.

most likely he will never play for us again.

Couldn't blame him if he did, kid stands to make a sackful of money... why would he want to break his leg or get a bad concussion.
Because he’s a football player and competitor. He’s not going to sit out to protect his draft stock. I don’t think doing that would even help his draft stock anyways. It’s not like he’s been a can’t miss prospect for 2 years already. He’s only recently climbed the draft boards. If he doesn’t play, I think he’d slide down the boards.

We sure have quitters in our fan base. Glad I didn’t serve with them. Lots of couch pussies. Surrender when adversity hits.

It’s one game without at least 3 important pieces including our top QB. If Will’s in there 24 pts doesn’t beat us. Lighten up on these kids. Stay behind your team when they need you.

Will’s not built like that. Turf toe is extremely painful but the whiners here wouldn’t know. He cant play with it.

Still wearing their HSchool letter jackets and “ know how it goes”.

What does stoops have to do with it? If Bryce young decided it was in his best interested to shut it down Saban couldn’t do shit.
Lol. OK.
I'm sure if Saban labeled Young a quitter, and said he was well enough to play but wouldn't, the NFL wouldn't care a bit.

Character matters and these NFL teams trust the head coach to be truthful about a players character and how he plays for the team.

Was thinking the same thing. There is absolutely nothing to play for now. This team is a hot garbage and Levis shouldn’t want any part of it.

The NFL doesn’t care about his fumbles or reads - they can teach all that.

they DO care about leadership, and a move like this would definitely hurt his stock

I think last night should have made it clear that our line is bad and Levis is required to cover up for an awful lot of stank.

Too often we don't know what we have until it is gone. For me Levis value actually went up, he seemingly has more on him than any of the high end quarterback prospects and is probably more accustomed to the responsibilities of an NFL signal caller than anyone who hasn't had them and some that do even fairly successfully.

Ja’Marr Chase sat out an entire season. Drafted #5 overall. Won Rookie of the Year. I don’t want it to happen but honestly couldn’t blame Will for shutting it down behind this atrocious offensive line.

Okay, let’s calm the hell down. Levis against P5 teams last year threw for:

179
102
87
145
192
150
372
177
149
233

this year:
202
220

Don't see that happening.

Also if Sharpe had came in with his regular class in the summer this year he plays or isn't on the team. What the OP suggests is the equivalent of Sharpe playing all OOC and 2 or 3 SEC games and then having a minor injury and then shutting it down. He didn't play at all so apples to oranges as Levis has played at UK a prior season and 5 games this season.

If Levis had a legit injury maybe you could argue it's a possibility but he said on the hot mic he is good for next week. I also don't buy into the he has nothing to play for argument. He can maintain his high draft stock and maybe lead UK to an 8 and 4 or 9 and 3 season. UK wasn't winning the east or making a new years 6 bowl even if Levis is healthy all season so it's all about what you judge something to play for is.

This is true but then look at it from his perspective. That’s probably more from Stoops than Levis. He’s not going to walk away from his teammates. That would get him killed at the next level. We just have a lot of flaws on this team. It’s troubling because there are ways you can mask an inferior offensive line yet we do nothing. All but quit throwing the ball over the middle, we do very little roll out passing. On defense we always appear to play a very soft zone that has our guys guarding air instead of attacking at the line of scrimmage. We rushed 3 most of the night and dropped back 8. They ran screen passes for chunks of yardage yet we never adjusted. Same thing against ole miss. We dropped 8 back, left middle of field wide open. You play 11 on 11 but at times we play 3 on 8. You just can’t cover when you’re spread that thin. Teams watch us on film and see all kinds of wide open field.

I've heard this "so and so should shut it down" crap until I can't take it anymore. Last time I checked I was a Kentucky fan first and foremost. I want success for Will and all of UKs players. But quitting is for quitters. I wonder if the people that suggest this garbage are actually UK fans at all. I don't follow UK because of any specific player, I follow them because I love UK and I want them to win above all else.

These are the same people that suggest that if you're not playing in the football playoff that no games mean anything. If that's true, why are we all here on the message boards complaining about it. If you don't care about the games and they don't mean anything, what are you doing? Surely it's not worth your time and effort.

I cannot separate caring, really caring about a team and it's success on one hand and then saying unless we're in the playoff, no games matter and the QB should shut it down. Those things just can't coexist in my mind.
