If Gortat can play in the NBA

So can Humphries.
Gortat has horrible hands. Zero athleticism. Is just Big.

He's actually really nimble for his size, has a whole grab bag of moves, has great hands, has a decent short jumper to 15 feet, and like somebody else said -- he's mean as shit. He's also on the downward side of his career.

If anybody wants a laugh, follow Gortat on instagram. He gets into it with people all the time and it is hilarious.

This might be the dumbest thread in the history of this forum... quite an accomplishment.

Their starting 5 is plenty good. He needs a demar deronzen type player that can drive and actually defend. Beal got abused by Bradley and smart last night
Yeah, DeMar DeRozan killed it in the playoffs. The guy literally afraid of LeBron is who you need to win big games. Beal is the highest paid player on that team and you just admitted that he played like garbage, Wall needs help.

Wall and DeRozan would be atrocious together because they're both poor shooters. Beal is a good fit beside Wall. They need a much, much better bench and to not be playing in an NBA where LeBron exists and the Warriors have half the All-NBA team.

Geez...what a horrible comparison. Outside of both being white and tall that is all that is similar between the two.

1. Gortat can actually move his feet on pick and roll defense. Can stay in front of driving defenders and use his length to be a solid defender. Humphries weakest skill is lateral foot movement...he simply breaks down very easily on pick and roll defense when he has to move away from the paint.
2. Gortat has really weak low post scoring... but as far as pick and roll and running to the rim for finishing on the move...he's really above average doing that and shows really nice hands to catch tough passes in traffic. Humprhies has pretty brutal hands and has never shown an ability to knife thru traffic and finish off the glass.

The Humphries exageration on this board is astronimical

I said a DD type player. He needs a big bodied SG that can actually play defense. All that shooting Beal does in the regular season isn't translating to the playoffs( well I guess he still shooting a lot but they're not going in) and he's being absolutely abused on Defense. Gets killed on boards.

Shooting 27% from 3

I've been saying Beal isn't good, keep up

I have not doubt that Humphries can make it in the NBA. He won't be on a roster next year, he'll probably be in the D-League a couple years. But you can't teach a guy to be 7'1. He's not overly thin, not too unathletic, has an ok jumper. He really just needs minutes to gain experience! I give him a 65% chance to be on an NBA roster in 3-4 years.

That's why I'm saying you contradicted yourself when you said their starting 5 is plenty good. They are not, they especially aren't when Beal is playing like garbage as he has been. DeRozan disappears every playoffs and played worse that Beal these playoffs even though Beal has been non existent.

Youre starting 5 is good if you're making the 2nd round and competing vs the 1 seed. When I said DD I wasn't meaning specifically him. Just a longer 2 guard that's has more muscle on him. Paul George would be a perfect fit in DC, if we're talking max contact players
