I was shocked at some family members reactions

Saw some family that I don't see very often, and they are UK fans. However, when I said how great it was to enjoy watching games again, they were less than enthused. They weren't on the Cal needed to go bandwagon, and are not thrilled that we hired Pope. I just can't even. I have lost the ability to even.

If they wanted Cal over what is going on right now… they are not real UK fans.

How can anyone not be thrilled that we hired Pope? The guy is the anti-Cal in every conceivable way.

People don't like change... they like the devil they know.

That's the story of life really.

The other side of it they aren't likely huge fans and only casually watch UK basketball. The perspective matters on how you look at it.

I am not sure the wins and losses will be tremendously different this year, but I would much rather have a coach who prepares his team for winning vs a coach who prepares his players to get to the next level. Add in the fact that he just got to be so Pompous, it was ridiculous.

I was a little disappointed when I heard it was Pope. But after watching film on BYU and seeing how little talent he had at BYU and still had a very formidable team, I was on board 100%. Provided, he can recruit in the same zip code as Cal, which he is obviously showing he can, Pope will have more success when it really matters. We just need to keep some of the talent he recruits for 2 - 3 years, instead of pushing it away.

There were people who said they would be Louisville fans after Pitino was hired there. Some people are just weird.

Sorry..............

I've always been enthused to watch UK play, no matter how good they were or even when on probation. If you aren't enthused about watching the team you say is your team - win, lose or draw - I'd say that's a you problem. I may not have liked results or how things turned out but every game day has been and always will be a special day in my opinion. And before someone yells Cal lover or any other cutesy little term, I support the team. The coach is part of the team until he isn't. I supported Rupp, Hall, Sutton, Pitino, Tubby, BCG and Calipari. I support Pope and will until he is no longer the Head Coach. Then if I'm still around I'll support whoever is next. That doesn't mean I'll like everything they do or agree or be okay with subpar results but I'll still be enthused and it will be great having the opportunity to watch every game. Win, lose or draw.
