Yeah, no shit. What is wrong with our AD?
Mitch is a problem. Basketball runs the show at UK and this dude’s whole persona represents like 2% of our fanbase. Should be a guidance counselor or pastor and not a AD at a school with one of the most rabid fanbases out there
We may all be surprised with a coach that cares more about the name on the front of the jersey. I would be ok with it, just stop the embarrassment of it all and get on with it.
We already have the sunshine pumpers making excuses for next season because he can't recruit talent to make it competitive.
Thing that sucks is Pope is a good dude. And the fan base will trash this hire. Shouldn’t put him in this position

I get why Pope would want the job, and I think he is a decent coach, but Mitch is setting him up for failure.

187-108 is his coaching record as a head coach. I loved mark as a player but he hasn't proven enough that he should be the coach here. This happens and there's going to be a lot of fans losing their minds. Please mitch you had better not do this or you're going to get run out of Lexington

I don't get how that serves their interests, with a hire like this, if they want to revive the program.
Don’t see how you couldn’t take a wait and see approach with this. Has had success. Runs really good offensive sets. Probably not breaking the bank to get him. Gets the importance of Kentucky basketball to the state. And is one of our own.

How do you know? Mark was Rhodes Scholar smart, won a NC under Pitino, is one of our guys. Hurley was absolutely an unknown until last year.
We didn't even get through all Tier 1 coaches or any of Tier 2. We could've had Pearl and probably bought out Oats. Donovan hates it in Chicago and would've probably at least heard us out.
Pope was a joke candidate on the board and internet for a reason.
Most of the fanbase won’t trash him. Hell have serious support and the little bit**es fans will get weeded out. We re back!!
He’s not only setting him up for failure, he’s also banking on his UK legacy earning him more patience for multiple years of sucking. That way he is off the hook for the next hire.
