I know we need to stop the Calipari threads but this single article really needs to be read.

It was pretty obvious to me when the whole fiasco was going down that he didn’t actually want to leave and go to Arkansas. He overplayed his hand and ended up not having much of a choice.

I didn't realize anything had happened until i came into work (worked at UK hospital at the time) and everyone was talking about it

People who knew a lot more than me were discussing the type of details you're alluding to now

And it seems you're right - sounded like he was fishing around, got caught and rhen called on the carpet

Maybe all tbat is not news to others but the story unfolded SLOWLY for me -

Which has to add to the sting of that situation for him

Absolutely crazy how it apparently unfolded

Just in case you didn't see it, this is a gem. There's no baby in that stroller and Cal definitely knew there would be media outside his house when he was pulling that stroller out of the closet. It's like he's trying to look like a loon.

Cal never wanted to leave UK and his heart is not into Razorback basketball! His staff is indifferent on the sidelines and players don’t respond well to yelling non sense. Cal feels he is much better than living in Fayetteville!
HIs heart wasn't in UK basketball either. He was just using us to fulfill what he thinks is his destiny. I am glad he is gone. The dude has a seriously warped view of reality.

Cal is not doing that bad considering what players he’s got only 1 game behind us
Not doing that bad? He took the whole team we had last year and built off that with Fland and experience through the portal. Pope built an entire team through the portal from nothing. Cal is and has been a major underachiever with the talent he has.

That’s several mentions I’ve seen of Cal not “calling the hogs”. What in the world does that even mean? Someone asked him to do a hog call and he said no? 😂

Calipari really is going to prove us all wrong, isn't he?

We've said since the Arkansas hire, that he would get knocked out of the 1st round of the tournament once again. Well, you can't get knocked out in the 1st round of the tournament if you don't even make it.

Cal really is a genius. Checkers, not chess.

I've wondered too - like was there a moment when a proud ARK Emcee said -- YOU KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS!!!!

And Cal walked off a stage or something?

That's funny as a clown shoe rodeo if so

This is the presser. At the very end, they start calling the hogs and Cal walks off stage to “say hello” to coaches. Doesn’t participate. Fans didn’t like that.

I genuinely think Cal has totally lost his drive & keeps thinking he'll get it back. Either that or he can't afford to retire. But his drive is gone & it's not coming back. It's truly time to retire & that should be ok. It's sad to watch. He's just drawing a paycheck right now.

I mean, if he wants to be involved in basketball still, maybe consider doing so in some other capacity besides coaching. Comparing Memphis Cal & early UK Cal to this version is truly bizarre.

Heard that story on the golf course last fall from a fellow who claimed to have near direct information. The way he told it matches that exactly
