I hate losing to football schools

I'm not upset.. What Pope has been able to do, with a roster that was thrown together in a few months... Is unreal... I can't wait till he gets some players that he really wants, and not just those that where available.. Alabama just had better athletes, and people that can shoot, and dribble. They where just able to drive on us at will, and we struggle doing it, and most of the time we are out of control... The future is bright.

Great post spot on

I completely agree with this and it bothers me too. I miss the days when it was possible to be dominant in basketball.

MOST schools are so-called "Football schools". The revenue streams are incredible. It's a numbers game. It takes less guys in basketball to turn a program around. Besides, Who says you can't be good at both?

We played maybe the best offense in the country and they were fired up coming off an embarrassing loss. They played their butts off and just happen to outlast us today. To me, we looked one piece short in this one. When Butler went to the bench we simply didn’t have a way to keep pace. All good, we were still very impressive today, just not quite enough. Let’s not overreact to losing a close one against an excellent team while we are beat up

I know Carr is hurting but he killed us today & JR went back in to sulking mode. I know he was in foul trouble but bad body language in the 2nd half, and our defense in picks was very poor as well today. We seem to struggle finishing at the rim other than OO, missed a lot of shots in the lane and at the rim plus we gave up way too many offensive rebounds to them. Pretty disappointed knowing we have to go there and they dropped 100 on us here.

Tied 81-81 and then Alabama hits 2 tough threes and a third wide open after blocking the first attempt, and Bama is up 90-81 with under 3 mins to go. Killer stretch. Brea missed an easy layup trying to finger roll it somewhere in there too.

Fun game to watch but that's a tough L at home. First close game we didn't make the necessary plays down the stretch. If Bama shot their season avg from the FT line we probably win.

Let's go return the favor in a month

This guy starts one of these threads every time we lose to a "football school" Don't feed him.

There’s no such thing as basketball and football schools in the NIL/Portal era. Playing field has leveled. Indiana made the CFP and Florida Atlantic has played in the final four.

Yeah, people thinking it's gonna go back to the good ole days are sadly mistaken. If Pope wins 3 sec regular season and 3 sec tournaments in 10 seasons that will be amazing.

Very proud of Kentucky today. They had a great game plan and fought their tails off, Had Carr been 80% I think we win by ten plus. It’s all good though and we definitely need this week to recover and rest. Congrats to Bama for sure, they played hard and earned it but we showed some good things today and there’s still a lot of basketball to be played. Go Cats.
