We play well on the road and Texas just loses games they shouldn’t.

Then I could see us beating Louisville (because they aren’t built well) and staying in the conundrum of, “do you know how bad we can be?”

In typical 2024 Kentucky fashion we will probably play texas really well just based on the other top 10 teams we have played. But we would lose next week to a lacrosse team.

It would not shock me if we either hang with Texas or even beat them.

But we will all be scratching our heads if our two SEC wins come on the road against playoff bound teams.
And that is very possible.

How did we play UT tough, get within a point of Georgia, upset Ole Miss, and get beaten by USC like a red headed step-child????

yep. Precisely. SCarolina, Vanderbilt, Florida and a historical bad Auburn could well be better than we think....but the Cats weren't even close in those games AFTER standing toe to toe with the others.

That's really the frustrating part.

All those teams are good. All but auburn are really good, especially on any given day. Auburn is really good when they dont shoot themselves in the foot all game.

We might well play them tight. Secondary must tackle. Going to need the front guys to get pressure so we can use zone to take away big plays by avoiding massive rac. When we blitz, we have to get there or hope ewers misses.

On offense, we need to possess the ball, get first downs, score 7 when we get the chance.

Probably need a special teams or defensive td to really do it.

Vandy game was close. Auburn was closer than final score. UK forfeited when they switched QBs n 2nd half.

Defense must stop explosive plays, and hold the score down.

Stoops has a lot of upset wins where the half-time scores were nearly identical: UF streak-buster, 2018: UF 10, UK 7 at the half. PSU Citrus Bowl: UK 10 PSU 7 at the half; Ole Miss 2024: UK 10, OM 7, at the half. And there are several others.
Stoops is the master of the upset.

Couldn't beat Texas if spotted 3 touchdowns
Thats just ridiculous. We have a win over current top 9 at Ole Miss. Texas has zero wins v current top 25 but you keep on dreaming.
Plus UK is about as healthy as they have been in a loooong time.
Ky 17
Texas 16
If the Good Ole Boys/Zebras dont wave their rebel flags all game.

I was thinking the same dang thing, this is type of game we excel at (aka Ole Miss). Go in and play over our heads, ball bounces our way, Zone D gets a random pick and push it way into the 4th and either win it or be dangerously close. That or get totally thrashed - no inbetween.

The way this year has gone, beat Texas, get our hopes up for another bowl season all of the bad losses be damned, then lose to the Dirty Birds by 20. If I am being honest, this would not totally shock me. Get excited, only to have our hopes ripped to shreds. But more likely, lose to Texas and then ????? v/s Louisville. WTF knows this year.

I just don't see a miraculous end to the season to get us bowl eligible. The players have to be bought in and care enough for that to happen and so far with the results of the South Carolina, Vandy, Auburn game they just have not shown it. I think it is more likely we lose to Texas and UL. We might have a chance at UL if Stoops announces to the team this is his last game with UK and tells the players to go out and send him off on a high note but I don't think Stoops has any plans of retiring.

UK usually plays well with a chance to pull an upset....when not expected to do much. Consequently, when expected(or hoped) to do well they seldom do. Or it seems that way. This is a potential trap game for TX, located between long time Southwest Conference rivals Arky and TAM. I expect TX to be focused, win this game going away, something like 31-7.

Don't do this to yourself. Texas will name the score and UL is a toss up at best.

We can't score enough we have a offense that operates at a snail pace horrible qb and offensive line wait until next year when we lose all those players it's going to get really ugly hopefully stoops will do the right thing and move on we can't take another year of being in the celler with no hope of digging out

It's possible, though not likely. Our best games this year have been against the best teams, so I fully expect this to be a relatively close game into the 4th quarter.

Our defense does not have the same intensity now they have quit because our offense sucks
