I’m giving Louisville credit. They played great

This team, staff, program have a little mojo now going into bowl/offseason.
A loss at Louisville and this program burns to the ground. I think we (c)would have Lost Stoops, Coen, White, Marrow and a majority our 2024 signing class.

Instead, we beat a Top 10 Team at their place with ACC Officials and UK didn't kill themselves with penalties and turnovers. UK players kept their composure when clearly UL players wanted to start fights...shout out to the coaches for the disciplined play and composure it took to ignore that and all the noise on the outside.

Kudos to CMS and the entire staff for having this team focused and ready to play.

That said, he's going to be a pain in the a$$ to Stoops. He's an offense First guy and understands cfb the way it's played today not 25 yea rs ago.
And his defense let a bad offense score 31 points. As is typical of offense focused coaches, only cares about 1 side.

Given Brohms Purdue's history, all the praise towards Ron English now will be sour in 12 months. And he will fire his DC and blame them for his team being weak on defense, as he has before, without looking in the mirror. Like Lincoln Riley.

They’re clearly improved in year one and have a tougher mindset. Part of me is looking forward to more competitive rivalry games as long as we keep winning them.

I don't think year 2 of the Brohm era will be as easy as this one was. They have an interesting season next year...I think they will lose more than 2:

at Austin Peay
INDIANA
at Notre Dame
at Kentucky
at Boston College
at Clemson
GEORGIA TECH
MIAMI
PITTSBURGH
SMU
at Stanford
at Virginia

Record wise I agree. They won’t be 10-1 next year. But that doesn’t change the difficulty or ease of our game with them.

We don’t play Indiana they backed out of the series. Jacksonville State replaces IU which may end up being an upgrade to our schedule.

This is where I got the information from for both schools...

If you look at UK’s schedule on there the UofL game is listed 4th but it also say Saturday Nov 30th. It will stay that way until they know the dates of the conference games.

You do realize UK avg. 6.1 yards per play on offense, right? That’s very good vs a Power 5 opponent… especially on the road.

The failing to gain 300 yards of offense is a little misleading when you only have to run 47 plays to win. Kickoff return for TD. Fumble at midfield. Fumble into opponents red zone. UK had short fields twice that kept the Cats from more yardage.

I don’t think UK played great either, but I was actually pretty happy with the offense in limited snaps. UK also scored on 5/8 offensive series, which is really good considering the rest of the season.
no doubt the 2nd half of football was a vast improvement offensively. We only had around 100 yards total offense for the first half. When I look at a game in how well we played I am speaking of the game in its entirety, not just half of it. We got big plays offensively in the 2nd half which is not our calling card to help those yards per play averages out. We had a 2 play 75 yard scoring drive for example and of course rays 37 yarder for the game winner. We played good overall, really good offensively in the 2nd half. Many card fans like saying that was our best game which it wasn’t even close. Florida was by a wide margin.

ive said it way before this season even started. that if Brohm didnt win atleast 8 games with that schedule he should be fired. and ill say it now about next year. if he dont win 8 games with that patsy schedule he should be fired or quit.

With JB there they’re going to be pretty good. This rivalry is really gonna get heated over the next few years which makes it that much more fun and meaningful.

Unfortunately, UofL ran into a UK defense hell bent on taking the ball away.

Kentucky forced 2 fumbles. Not like they handed the ball over.
That is a fair point...probably under-stating UK's part in the fumbles. For some reason...the Leary Int was in part due to UL hitting him while getting the ball out...so those "feel" a lot more like forced TOs vs. Plummer not gettign the ball tucked in while running out of bounds.

It wasn't all that remarkable. They won three more regular season games than last year, but they didn't play Clemson and Florida State who they lost to last year.

Louisville didn’t make their conference schedule it was a by-product of doing away with divisions. However we are playing FSU on Saturday and yes I know Travis is out but they will be starting the same QB who led them to a come from behind victory over Louisville last year.

Amazing to me how many Kentucky fans are smitten with Louisville and falling all over themselves fawning over Brohm. This five game streak no doubt been hard on some of y'all.

Maybe go knit yourselves a red sweater and enjoy a hot cocoa for the ACC championship game, blouses.

Yes, they lost Travis. The backup QB Rodemaker did lead USF to a 23-14 win over UF on Saturday. He also played a full game against UNA the week before. He is not coming in cold and is in his 4th year with game experience every year.

...and there is this headline from last year.

Rodemaker rallies Florida State to 35-31 win at Louisville

Lamar, it’s great to see you posting in our general discussion forum. It’s a great way to pass the time, and let’s be real; it’s an orgy for the senses over there ⚓️

I will be a huge FSU fan that day. Our victory on Saturday was sweet but every time UL loses it is a very good day.

I’m with you. Can’t stand ul, mainly just because the way most of their fans act. The f-word is standard vocabulary for them. But I would trade 2/3 losses to ul for a win over Tennessee. In the grand scheme nobody outside Jefferson County really cares if we beat them. But wins over Tennessee get attention.

Eddie Gran knows Ron English. I wonder how much Gran helped with the game planning.

Thanks. I don't post on Louisville Rivals. I post on Louisville 247sports. Many UK posters seem to be fine with me posting here. A few are rude and baiting, but I just ignore them.
