Hug your loved ones, folks.

Sorry for your loss, my prayers for your family. And for everyone in here with similar stories. We lost my grandma on Christmas Eve many years ago and I unexpectedly lost my brother several years ago. Anybody that says it gets easy is lying. You just learn to manage the loss.
Exactly, time heals all wounds but not completely. Just gets easier to get by year after year. The sadness and loss/missing them never goes away.

This. It gets "easier' only in the sense you can carry it better. But this time of year, or birthdays/anniversaries/important dates, that loss is there and those days....well, they suck.

Hugs to everyone man.

Lost a brother in 1967, 9 years old in a boating accident on the Green River, my DAD, never got over it, always blamed himself for it, I watched him till he passed away, always blaming himself! Now 50 years later, lost a grandson age 13 October 17, 2021 my sister walked into church, told us we had to leave, told outside what had happened, the scream my wife let out still haunts me. I am now watching my son go through what my DAD went through! Yes, hug your loved ones, tell them that you love them, because you may never get that second chance!!

Life comes at your pretty fast. My big sister, 50, went to work yesterday and never made it home. Brain aneurism, out of the blue. She left behind two children, 13 and 15. You just never know, so hug your loved ones today and when you see them for Christmas. Don't learn the hard way that there's always tomorrow, or that there will be time for goodbyes.
So sorry to hear this. Prayers for you and your family!

Oh my goodness!!!! I am so very sorry for your loss. You are so right. You just never know. My mom (not only my mom, but best friend and hero) and I had this thing we would do. Every phone call we always ended with "I love you" and we did the same at the end of every visit, as well. We both said that if something were to happen, that would be what we would want to be the last thing we said to each other. We did that for over 40 years. every phone call and every visit.

SempeeFi, you, and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers now and during the holiday season. Take care.😥

Truly sorry, man. That's just horrible.

So, very very sorry for your loss.
Something I learned this year. You never know how strong you are until strong is your only choice.
My family has been through a lot this year.
Lost my second grandson to suicide, he followed the same fate as his brother in 2018,
wife diagnosed with cancer in March and my 86-year-old MIL with lung cancer. I myself have been hospital 4X's with AFIB.
The older I get the harder life seems to be.
Strong is our only choice.
Hey @BlueTick2, I'm sorry for all of the things you have gone through this year. Wow. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers now and during this holiday season. Take care.

I closed my mom almost every night when I was either out of town or in college. At the time I thought it was a bit silly, but man, I, glad she insisted.

Sorry for your loss, losing someone this time of year is sad. Prayers for all the family in Jesus name. Just went to the funeral of one of my childhood friend today. He was 80 and had a beautiful family. He passed one day before his wife's birthday. He was a very good Christian man.

I am sorry to hear about the loss of your sister SemperFiCat and prayers for your mother and the family MathUK. God Bless you all at this time.

You are 100 percent correct. So sorry you are going thru this at Christmas time. It hits harder at the holidays.

My dad died on my birthday in 1995 and my mom is in a coma right now and is not expected to make it until Christmas.
So GD sorry buddy. Watched both my parents pass by their bedside. My Christmases have never been the same. Hug your loved ones tight tonight.
