I mean, we all knew Hubert didn't have the chops for that job. Armando Bacot covered up a lot of crap.
Hubert did a terrible job reloading his front court.
Hopefully he does enough to get into the tournament so he retains his job. I hope they keep him for 20 years.
NC has that standard where they only hire within, that's going to bite them in the ass, it already iss. Bring back Bill Guthridge.

This was incredibly predictable, they weren’t even good his first year, they just got hot in the tournament and made a Final 4.

Unfortunately for UNC, all that did was buy Hubert a lot more time than he deserved.

That's an insult to Tubby. Tubby had some good years after the title. Oh, and he won a title. Davis has a win over Duke (a much appreciated win over Duke I might add) and that's about it.

Full disclosure, I couldn't stand Tubby at the end. He was almost Cal-like. Borderline lazy and completely stubborn about evolving. First thing I thought when I read OPs title, that's a huge slap in the face to OTS. That guy was blazing hot when UK hired him.

With Caleb Wilson looking at UK and UNC... This shouldn't be a difficult choice. UK doesn't have a PF for next year yet and Hubert Davis can't coach. I know NIL means a lot, but still. UNC is approaching dumpster fire levels right now.

I hope UNC continues to lose games. Do they have any good players coming in next year ? They do have that freshman guard (I believe his name is Jackson) who played great last night. Like you I hope Wilson comes to UK.

Yep. I don’t know if it’s still the case, but the UNC mods used to be notorious for being the most “ban-happy” on the internet …especially during that academic scandal era. They simply would not allow any opinions that differed from the UNC party line.

It’s still the only time I’ve ever gotten a ban from a message board. And, as far as I could tell, for no reason other than having the letters “UK” in my user name.

"Bad luck" was commonly used on this board when Tubby was here. It just became an excuse for his continued shortcomings. It is just as easy to attribute his title to "good luck" if you want to go there.

It’s still the only time I’ve ever gotten a ban from a message board. And, as far as I could tell, for no reason other than having the letters “UK” in my user name.

There was a time in which they banned UK fans for posting anything negative about UNC on Rupp Rafters. JPScott was banned and he hadn't posted on their site in a long while when he was banned.

Fortunately for this board, the scandal at UNC managed to get the trash to run away and many of them never came back.

Definitely seems like a no brainer from the coaching and basketball side of things.
