How many scrums

I'm thinking the EKU game will be our last we play them after this year due to the conflicts. I really see our hardest hitting game of the year here.

I just want to see us get through that game healthy. I could easily see EKU taking some really cheap shots and putting our players at unusually high risk of injury.

I think you mean scrub. Scrum is a way that a rugby ball is put into play.

They will be severely out matched if they go that route. Everyone except spence. They need to remember what level of football they are. Hopefully they don't come in with beer muscles and a big ego.

I'm afraid the ul game will be more heated. Sure there are a couple guys on eku that are gonna get some attention but eku isn't that good.

UL talks/tweets crap all the time about and to our players so I expect that game to be really emotional again this year. Plus, you know they are gonna do something to get revenge for us standing on the chicken.

-please take note:

A scrum is actually a very organized/regulated "set play" in rugby. If you are for some reason compelled to use a rugby analogy...say "maul". While regulated this aspect of play more closely resembles a "dust-up".

-using the word scrum in this context is akin to calling uniforms: "outfits".

no way, they will be on their best behavior. UK's athletic department will let it be known to EKU's athletic department that if any unsportsmanlike conduct occurs in this football game, forget UK ever scheduling the Colonels in any sport going forward. And the message will be passed down to EKU's coaching staff, and from there to their team.

but UL, yeah look for those thugs & miscreants to try and put on a show to "make up" for what UK did to them pregame last season

UK's behavior last year was out of line. I think the Cards will account for it this year as last -- by winning the game.

Even your boy Rick Bozich thinks Kentucky will win that game this year..that should tell you all you need to know

Honestly I'm not a fan of playing these low-level in-state schools..we have nothing at all to gain..nothing..if we win it's no big deal because we were supposed to, and if we lose it makes us look absolutely terrible and they have something to brag about and rub in our faces for the rest of our lives..there are a million other guarantee-win games you could schedule besides these teams

We should learn..we helped build Louisville's football program by scheduling them in games like this and giving them millions of dollars (and national exposure) when they were on WKU and EKU's level a couple decades ago..who benefitted out of that deal? Let's not do the same for WKU & Eastern (well, we've already kind of done the exact same thing for WKU) lets go give some small team in Florida (that won't treat the game like their Super Bowl) $1 million and a chance to build their program.. at least if that team pulls a miracle and beats us when we have our worst team in the last 50 years we won't have to be reminded of it by our friends, neighbors & co-workers who are WKU and EKU alums (BTW, I still haven't gotten over Barnhart scheduling Western Kentucky on a NEUTRAL field in Nashville..my goodness if that wasn't the blunder of all blunders..makes me sick just thinking about it..and if anyone ever wants to know why I continue to question Mitch's decision-making, it's because he continually makes decisions like that when it comes to football--scheduling neutral-site games with teams like Western Kentucky and Miami (OH)..you just don't do that..now we have another Mitch special where he just scheduled a home-and-home with Southern Miss..yes, Southern Miss..you schedule home-and-homes with teams that are on your level, not with a team that's clearly below you..it's fine if you want to pay Southern Miss. to come play us at Commonwealth, but YOU DO NOT GO DOWN TO THEIR PLACE AND PLAY A NON-POWER 5 TEAM ON THEIR HOME FIELD...with Kentucky football we're already fighting & struggling with a national perception issue and then Mitch is going to go and do something like this? When you schedule a home-and-home with a team like this it's basically like saying "Hey, we feel like this team is on our level." I mean that's just basic athletics director stuff that you learn on day one..my goodness..that's just a common sense thing and Mitch still can't follow through with it..that's why I continue to question his decision-making..no other SEC AD would schedule that game, ZERO..but it's just another one of these deals made by Mitch that we have to live with

I just hope EKU doesn't try to fight us or do anything stupid this year because knowing our luck we'll get a player kicked out for the game after EKU on the schedule (where we'll actually need them)

You make some good points in your post but I respectfully disagree with the above statement.

Without question, the UofL football program was absolutely awful before Schnellenberger took over in 1985. With very few exceptions, prior to 1990, any UK team would have likely beat the snot out of any UofL team. Schnellenberger wanted to play UK but would not do so until he felt the Cards could compete favorably with the Cats. That did not happen until some 9 years later. I recall him saying this at the time the original deal was done. The biggest thing the deal did for UofL was to accelerate the building of PJCS. I say accelerate because it was going to happen, but the nature of the initial contract (no game in Louisville until they had a new stadium) probably bumped it up by at least a year, maybe more.

I'm not sure how much "national exposure" the game brought UofL but it brought that same exposure to UK. It has been a good series for both schools and, IMO, initiated a greater interest in football throughout the state.

But I will say this, UofL's success in the series has damaged the widely held notion that UK football program is better because (insert the usually rhetoric here...SEC school, bigger stadium, more fans, flagship university, etc.). Better is now determined on the field and not at the water cooler.

Peace

Wildcard "The Times They Are A Changing" "The Joke Is No Longer On UK" and this year in November it is going to be "Bye Bye Birdies" night at CWS.

Anyone who was at the ul game knows that our boys were attacked by the thug tards while warming up. The jurich media covered it up. I will never step foot there again after the way tard fans spat on and threw beer on my 76 year old grandmother. When my 80 year old grandfather tried to defend her, they pushed him down and mocked him when he could not stand up.
Of course, stadium security threatened us when we asked for help.

Something tells me Coach Hood isnt going to suffer any fools when they play us. I don't expect Coach Stoops too either. Players need to go out to midfield, shake hands before kickoff, and just play ball.

Do you wear the orange outfit to show that you are a true ul fan? Or are you on weekend work detail like most of your transfers?

I have an infrared t-shirt. Some say it looks kind of orange.
I will reiterate -- the "thug" argument doesn't hold water and it only represents an attack in place of something real about football since UK has no argument there lately. I do think you've recruited well and you have a chance to make a real argument on the field. The other stuff is just pathetic, though.

the thug argument does hold water since you will take anyone for anything short of raping a 12 yo cousin and even that took a couple months to see if you would actually take him.

but we do need to win to solve the real argument... who's better this year.

I see that you didn't list the so called crimes, would it be if you did, it would take away your so called facts?

Thing is we don't have to stomach hypocrisy, abortion, adultery, lying, internet porn, dead cheerleaders, and an AD that imports that to our university. Of course we have had some problems with BB guns. What does the word thug mean to you? When I think of thugs, Rod Council comes to mind and the UL slug that brought him to Louisville.

UL had a cheerleader die of a drug overdose while in the crack house apartment of a UL football player. Died, a little girl with her whole life out in front of her, cut down before she reached 20.

oh, but saying they are thugs is just too much

I have heard there are dozens of deaths in louiville that have had investigations shut down by jurich and his henchmen
