how many losses will uk have at end of schedule?

You think that. Every game that we are in a close game you come on here talking about how bad the team is lol
It's hilarious people want to act as though they believe we will lose ? # of games , but are mad at the world when UK loses one.
Teams do lose games . In fact that's probably what makes them better.
Let's hear your prediction, then, Ellen. How many games will we lose?

If Cal gets a backache and can't coach? Maybe 5-6. If he is available? 8-10.

If we lose 10 or more and flame out in first weekend, what would be everyone’s thought then?

I say this is definitely possible.
That the program is on a downward trend and that he can recruit whoever he wants and it still won’t matter, they won’t be able to overcome his terrible in game coaching or compete for anything

Assuming Calipari stays until basketball evolves into something else. Around 120000

The big money boosters better get that buy out ready. If Cal can’t win with this squad, he isn’t winning anything again.

It better not be too many. So many don’t realize that Cal is on shakier ground than some seem to think. The money is there for the buyout folks. He has lost some of his biggest supporters and better win big. Time has run out for him.

Another 10 loss or more without a deep tourney run will likely lead to his departure.

Unfortunately, a good portion of the fanbase is perfectly fine with the losing and lack of tournament success. The Cal fan club on this board is proof of that. So yes, I think the powers that be at UK do not care. They know that people will still watch and buy merch regardless of how the team performs. But that begs the question: why spend so much on the coach?
Where is this “proof” than anyone is fine with losing?

What constitutes proof?

Not wallowing in self pity?

I have to agree with you seems like they play worse when its tournament time.
I’m actually not sure I remember a cal team that got noticeably and progressively better throughout the season. There maybe be a few but none recently. Some started great and finished great. A lot started well, hit a mid season slump, looked good later, then returned to mediocrity at the end of the season.

True. He's never overachieved in the tournament smh.
2014 may have been when you were in diapers, I get it. 2011?? 2017 and 2019 were both 1 point from a final 4, which are very good years.2020 was on par to be the exact same way

Sure it does. Just have to not play defense, keep jacking and missing a bunch of threes and making 6’ passes. Just like last game.
As much as it pains me to think, if Cal forces the same type of play as last game you might be right. I have to hope he is not that far gone.

I think they end up losing 7-8 total
The 8th being in the elite 8 or final 4
I think they win the sec and tournament this season. This team has that sec tournament feel to it. But , I'm just the coaches wife who am I to say

What type play did cal force last game?! Lol
The only thing that was different on offense in the first half was awful passing and players not taking a team seriously. Turnovers... Don't tell me he posted up Mitchell, that has happened every game this season. It's only highlighted when the goons want it to be

Defending a man that does nothing but loses.
Except last week when they dump trucked the #8 team in the country.
You know more about the game than this .... That unc Wilmington team would have beaten several teams Saturday. That's a good team that had a lot to prove, and they wanted it more. Awful loss but it doesn't change anything with this team. Still the same team that can't guard anyone yet...

Sorry, I am not buying that the players were not ready to go. Something was off and it was the lineups and flow if the game. Changed with the bigs coming back as I was afraid it would. Cal changed/dictated something. Too much of a coincidence.

I think losses 3 and 4 are coming up. The first one will bomb us, and the second one they will just expose our lack of size.

I think at the end of conference play we'll be 19-12 and that's (( if )) Cal continues to go away from what made these guys great against Marshall and Miami.

Sadly, I'm going to say 11.
This team has some offensive talent. Though, it is inconsistent.
It has serious defensive shortcomings.
But, the determining factor is that Calipari is still coach. So yeah, 11 losses at least.
The next one could very well be this coming Sat. Penn will have a good crowd and they aren't a terrible team. Feels like the versus Seton Hall game a few years back. Very dangerous matchup.

The sooner you get out of there, the better, that's their approach. They won't say it, but that's what it is. Sure, they're "upset" that they lost, but all it takes is for few guys trying to avoid contact, and taking off plays, to end up with a loss.

Miami is possibly overrated.

I think it's double digits again and that should be enough to sufficiently embarrass Calipari to where he resigns but it won't be and we will start next season the same way with all Calipari's tired old lines of how young we are and we're everybody's Super Bowl and all the other car salesman crap he comes up with.

As do most teams..... Do Cal's teams improve at a better clip than a standard NCAA team? I see no evidence of this school of thought.
Most teams weren't always made up of some of the top freshmen in the country though.
That seems so long ago I completely understand if you forgot.
Cal would always teach certain ways of playing and let the kids figure it out in game. Even if it meant losing some reg season games he knew it would make them better in the long run. It did ... Lot has changed since the pandemic though
