How Long Does It Take???

Call me naïve, but Ive heard it can take 8-10 years to build a football team to a consistently championship level. 12 tops.
What am I missing? Im not sure what year this is for Coach Stoops, but we are NOT at a championship level. Im not dissing Coach Stoops, just wondering that maybe it CANT be done at KY.
