Almonor played 15 minutes without registering a single statistical contribution—no field goal attempts, free-throw attempts, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, fouls, or turnovers.

Trent Noah did the same as well in 13 minutes of action. That made them two of the three most minutes ever played by a Wildcat that didn’t log a statistic, according to Big Blue History.

I don’t understand this. It ‘s hard to have one player with that type of effort and stats. But to have two of them in the same game?

And Pope didn’t schedule a training session in Rupp arena , for the players to run up and down the rafters stairs?

I think Pope is way too nice. Pitino would never accept this type one effort , especially on defensive end.

Well, the normal retort to this would be that there are other ways to contribute that don’t show up on the stat sheet.

But those two are both slow-footed defenders who are supposed to make up for it by being good shooters. Ain’t much reason to have them on the floor if they won’t even attempt a single shot in a combined 28 minutes of action.

But, on the bright side, at least they also had zero turnovers!

We were struggling to play keep away from Ole Miss defense and couldn’t get a look from three unless it was a runout or long rebound after a scramble for the ball. Almonar is not a guy who can do much offensively unless he’s set up for an open three. It’s hard to believe neither even got a rebound or even didn’t commit a turnover. Ole Miss had us discombobulated to say the least.

I’ve rewatched the game twice (glutton for punishment I guess). Both guys rarely touched the ball. They spotted up as Oweh & Robinson drove to the basket and never got a kick out, mostly because Ole Miss thought they could defend them one on one and didn’t leave shooters. Oweh had so many misses at the rim in the first half. Both blocked out and were after rebounds and loose balls that just fell to someone else. I thought Noah was impressive on defense when he was in. Great helpside defense, fought through screens, closed out the guys other guys struggled to get to.
