was the video segment during the game on the Laettner shot from 20 years ago. I thought it was irrelevant to the current game except to push older UK fans buttons. Coach K is probably the only person involved in that game engaged physically with this one. Bilas might have been with the team as a grad assistant. Made me angry.

Are you in Smyrna, Tn? That's where I grew up. Was in the last graduating class of the old Smyrna High school (1988) And yes, the Laetner deal was some bs. I think they referred to Bilas as being a grad assistant in that game.

That shot is going to be shown whenever UK/Duke play...might as well just accept it and get over it.

Sigh, that's true. There's a reason that ESPN did a 30 on 30 about the game, books have been written on it, and it's aired every NCAA Tournament. Deemed one of the best college games ever played, especially with all the story lines behind it and a trip to the Final 4 on the line.

BTW, I know some on this board have mixed feelings about Coach K. But, back in the day, my dad (God rest his soul) would listen to Cawood and turn down the TV volume (no time delay then). It was Cawood's swan song and last broadcast. After the game, when wrapping up the post-game on air, Coach K came over and gave a very dignified and respectful send-off to Cawood and how Kentucky fans were loosing a legend. I was attending UK at the time but came back home to watch it with dad. Both of us teared up knowing a legacy (with Cawood) was coming to an end.

He didn't have to do that especially after such an emotional win... very classy. He may be cutthroat and manipulate officials on the court. But, off the court and in public, he's always been complementary towards UK.
