How does the “Clap for Cal” fan base feel?

We all need to understand that Cal can coach.. he chooses when and how he wants to though, and everything is on his terms. He and his players played their super bowl, they will continue to suck and miss the tournament..

You don't stay in college basketball this long, have this many wins, final fours, and titles without having some ability to coach. It's a crazy narrative on here that he can't coach. He's stubborn. Sometimes to a fault and his detriment but he can coach.

Tyty basically burned his bridge with BBN for life with crap he said last night. Toppin, Mintz, Reed and Hagans all sided with Cal.

Basically it was all the losers over the last 5 years that were the reason his ass is gone to begin with that were running their mouth. Bunch of g leaguers and never has beens.
The funny thing is when Cal is retired and gone where is their allegiance?

Cal did what he was paid to do tonight. He won a basketball game. I don’t hold that against him. Had he done that more at UK lately he would still be at UK. But the boo’ing just fed some pretty good players ammo to play harder than they normally do. I’m not saying applause would have changed anything tonight but booing did us no favors either.
Everyone on this board knows that Cal left of his own free will and here you are trying to rewrite history to assuage your precious feelings.

As much as you might not like Cal, Cal was still one of the best hires in the history of this program. He brought UK basketball out of the sewer and made it the coolest brand in college basketball. If that hire was not made, we could easily been an IU brand. People forget all the final fours, forget how he kept UK the winningest program in college basketball, and forget how he kept Louisville in check during a time when Louisville had one of the greatest coaches in the history of the game. This does not mention what he did for the people of the state.
Love him or hate him he will go down as one of the best!
1. Rupp
2. Rick (only because of where the program was when he was hired)
3. Cal (argument could be made he is #2)
Wrong…

I suppose reasonable minds can differ. But to me 9-16, St. Peter’s, Evansville in Rupp, soiling his pants against Wisconsin, Oakland, et al is not the factual basis for anything close to a reasonable argument…

Not sure giving those guys extra motivation to rally around their coach is a good thing, but they took advantage of a wounded Wildcat and deserve props for playing their best game of the season in Calipari's Super Bowl.

So Arky and Cal are going to win out right?

Make weekend of the SEC and a deep run in the NCAA now?

This board is ridiculous. Arky had nothing to lose, move on and accept that UK is better off.

I think you are confused about my “precious feelings” here. I didn’t weep any tears when Cal left. I think that is safe to say about most fans on here. But if you bring back a former coach and former players and recruits back, treat them as villians it feeds them. He came in with a chip on his shoulder. The players came in with a chip on their shoulder. They wanted it more. They heard the boos for them and for their coach. They got hot from the start and fed off of that. Thinking otherwise is denying the obvious. This was payback to the Bennie’s in his and his players eyes.

Booing shouldn’t have happened. The guy is under appreciated for what he did here the first 2/3 of his tenure because of the last 1/3.

If people didn’t want to welcome him warmly, they should have done nothing. All they did was feed the motivation of his team.

Sucks we lost the game, but I would feel the same whether it was Cal or any other coach.
