I may be wrong about it, but how come it seemed Maclin, Gilmore, Farrier snd Stephens-Brown could regularly get separation on deep routes, but Barion Brown rarely, if ever, did ?? Is this my imagination, or did anyone else see this ??

How come there is always talk about tight ends being used as receivers, but they are rarely targeted ??

I think the other teams pay more attention to Brown and Key. However, those others you mentioned may have better instinct for finding tge open areas. They also catch the ball better than. Brown. Key has good hands but seems like he has trouble getting himself open.

This makes sense and is what I see. They DEFINITELY catch the ball better than Brown !!

Because Brown isn’t nearly as good as his reputation as such would suggest. People seem to equate his kick return abilities with being a well-rounded receiver, which he is not.

You can find the first answer by watching some of Van Hiles film breakdowns. He doesn’t do anything to put stress on a dback . He’s a lazy route runner who thinks the things that worked in high school will work in the sec .
