Pretty much the basketball version of the Joker Phillips hire we made in football. Alum and former player for the school, longtime successful assistant coach, and yet nowhere near ready for the role of Head Coach of their alma mater they were taking over and flopped spectacularly.

And like Bruiser, Barbee, and Antigua, who all failed as head coaches, he will crawl back to Calipari and sit next to him for 5-6 years.

Barbee seems to have figured something out now that he's back out on his own ... but still ... there's a pattern here w/ Cal.
