If they don't figure out some back room deal to get him gone and he sits on the payroll for 2 or 3 more seasons then uk football is done. Mitch should feel the heat from that.

I’m ready for Stoops to leave and have been for a while. However, we’re far away from Stoops leaving the program worse than he found it.
No way Mitch actively pursues an avenue to settle with Coach Stoops for at least 3 more seasons. Since when is $36 million "afford"able???
Because you don’t pay it in a lump sum. That’s not how buyouts work. They are paid over the life of the contract. If UK signed Sumrall for 6 million, between his salary ahd Stoops buyout, they would be paying about $3 million more per season than they are right now. The athletic department budget is $175 million annually…they can find $3 million per year. This is all under the assumption he doesn’t get a job in football…if he does that, you take that salary away from the $3 million too. It’s 100% affordable.

Loads of people said that with Cal too and he’s gone now. I’m not saying Stoops would just walk away and pass up all that money. What I’m saying is, none of us sees a complete picture. There could be things that will come about to change a situation that we cannot know or predict at this time. Let’s see how things play out.

Time to let Cutter Boley play some snaps. Start him in the Murray St game. We gotta get over this rent a quarterback shit and develop one. There’s a lot going on with this team. And none of it is good. Starts with CMS mailing it in this year. Time to move on and no matter what the cost, eat the buyout and bring in someone who wants to be here. This whole program is a shitshow and it starts with micromanaging everything. We are no closer to competing in the SEC that we were in 2012. We may actually be further down the ladder.

I don't. Especially considering that he has a network of the BIGGEST donors that really like him and support the football program at the highest level.
It all comes down to Coach Stoops. Does he want to be here? Is he tired of having to work so hard to get players here and is there another program desperate enough to hire him away. It is apparent from his comments after these losses that he has NO intention of changing ANYTHING. So we are at HIS mercy for a while.

Speaking of his demeanor after the last 2 losses, he looks and sounds to be a defeated, tired man, who doesnt really want to be here. As someone else on here said, if you think this year is, going to be bad, next year could be 10x worse...and it doesnt get any better after that...I just dont think he has the fire in his gut anymore.
