TAI WYNYARD, New Zealand Breakers (Development player)

Wynyard is arguably the best talent to ever come out of New Zealand, and at just 17 years old, he’s a few years away from fulfilling his NBA dream.

The 2.05m power forward will be a development player for the Breakers for the first half of the season, before joining the University of Kentucky, where he’ll play under head coach John Calipari, and alongside Australian centre Isaac Humphries. Although the young Kiwi still has a few years of college ahead of him, the NBL season is the perfect opportunity for NBA teams to get an early look at him.

He and Humphries are essentially '16 recruits who give us great depth and potentially some really good minutes in the future.

Lots of SEC talent there. I wondered what happened to Ogilvy. Kid was one year away from a Vandy degree when he left.

Remember when Casey Prather made the wooden award list over Randle?

It gives us some wiggle room for '16.

Humphries may surprise this year, as you alluded to.

Not sure you can categorize it a surprise. The kids got some high praise already. Hype versus production. I think it's more production than hype when all is said and done. jmo

(For both)

Not Humphries but I get what you are saying . Humphries is a 2015 signing all the way .
I agree Humphries will play a large role this season but since he won't be eligible for the draft after this season he will be an even better asset for next season. In fact I believe I read somewhere that Cal may have offered him this year because of the lack of big men for next year. So in essence it is a 2016 signing.

One way or the other, this really just goes to show how locked in Cal is. It's like he sees the moves before they even happen. I love to play chess and I would imagine Cal would be a very tough opponent.

The extra time working with Cal and Payne should pay huge dividends for those two and for the team in 16-17.

He might have to much kiwi in him. Everybody knows too much kiwi+slow walk=awful player. He will be lucky to see mop up minutes.
